SynopsisPhotography is the art to grasp beauty with the one and only tool, a camera. Oji's dream is to become a photographer that photographs at the front lines of war, to take pictures of historical events taking place in front of his eyes. However, his childhood friend, Sumire, doesn't think that he is capable of becoming one. In his photography club, Oji shows his photos to the group, and his upperclassman, Ran, points out that Sumire is a good target to photograph. Oji manages to get permission to take photos of Sumire, and during his shoot, Sumire notices that Oji is acting differently than before. Later they find out that one of Oji's pictures won an award! Sumire congratulates him, but Oji sees beyond his award. He claims that he learned that he has much more potential than he thinks. Ran, overseeing this, plans to take Oji to the next level so he can capture true beauty through the lens of a camera!

"You never know when a good scene will come your way. I missed the opportunity once."
Kimiiro Focus is about a first year high school boy Hanazono Ooji who's is to be a professional cameraman in the field. However, instead of nature shots of the world; he is taking pictures of women that are close to being pornography.
But let's not go too deep into the story because this is a review not a synopsis.
Story: 8/10
The story is kind of common. An average who contains a unstoppable determination in whatever he does. This time instead of martial arts, spells, and roller blades; it's about photography. You see, Ooji despite being a rookie with camera, he has the ability to see natural beauty when it occurs. Not only that, but he is a serious lady killer. Whenever he takes off his glasses, he turns into a superman of charm and wit. Ladies, do not judge him by his weak looks and shyness; he is a born lady's man.
Overall it's the same thing over and over again in the story. Ooji either meets a new girl or talks to one of the girls he knows, convinces her to do a photo-shoot with him by using his charm, and then proceeds to take erotic photos of the said girl. This is an ecchi manga after all, so it lacks in terms of twists but has some good character development.
Art: 8/10
The entire manga was created by Chiaki Taro who is the same creator of PuriPuri. Compared to his last creation story wise, it's generally the same. Art wise, it's like if you compared the Mona Lisa to a 2 year old finger painting. Kimiiro Focus is a HUGE improvement from PuriPuri. There are beautiful environments and loads of wonderful fan service for you ecchi lovers out there. Ooji even gets sparkles whenever he takes off his glasses. I can't really comment on anything else art wise, except OOJI NEEDS A STRAP FOR THE CAMERA. I know photographers and they always have a strap attached to the camera in case they drop it. It puzzles me why he doesn't realize he might just drop the camera on accident. Maybe in the future Chiaki will use this in the story but otherwise, that's my main issue. Other than that, the art is very beautiful from the girls to the world that surrounds them.
Character: 6/10
Hanazono Ooji is your standard male character in a Harem anime. Ooji is dense, loveable, intelligent, shy, perverted and determined. It's a pretty normal character. However, when he takes off his glasses; he turns into a charming ladies' man that can convince any women to pose for him. It's one of the funniest parts in the entire manga. He can be compared to Katsuragi Keima in The World Only God Knows when it comes to his look, love and determination in what they love.
The girls are...normal. None of them really stand out as characters. More girls seem to be added as the manga continues because only the 18th chapter has been uploaded with English translations. The girls are pretty just they don't win my support of who I want most with Ooji.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Despite it's slightly above average character and decent story, it's just funny to read. The way Ooji transforms himself and shows his true side brings pure joy inside me. It's probably because he wears glasses and that alone makes other characters judge him as weak and shy. The fan-service in there is tolerable and some of it can get a bit hot at times but nothing like Aki-Sora or KissxSis. I always laugh and like how he's able to trick every girl to show a natural emotion instead of smile.
Overall: 8/10
The manga world needs characters like Hanazono Ooji. He is simple, kind and yet there is so much that lies within him. Ooji is like Sun Tzu with women, he knows when to strike. The manga is good and deserves to be more popular. I won't see it as an anime anytime soon but if it releases more chapters and gains more support, it might just get a anime deal. If you like harem manga, read it. You will enjoy it, I promise you.
Thanks for reading my review! This is my first review so please be gentle. Thank you and goodnight

kimiiro Focus
"A picture is worth a thousand words" is classic saying that shows that pictures can express emotions, thoughts, any many more things that are equal to those of words(can be interpreted in many ways, but this is what I think). For me photography is a way to capture a moment that I found enjoyable or simply wanting to keep for ever. so when I heard about a manga with romance and photography as the base for it, i just had to read it.
Art- 9 (thought I'd start with this since I think its the best part)
Now for this i gave it a high score because when oji takes the photo of the girls the artist made them take such nice poses. I mean talk about great, for every girl he takes the picture he sets the mood for them perfectly. he gets them going and makes them feel embarrassed and quite a lot of other emotions which adds the pictures. when i first saw the photos of them my first thought other than man this guys a pervert, where wow this guy can really capture theses girls quite well even up to expert level. For a certain picture he describes it as a mother panther protecting her young ready to pounce, and before i read that part i was thinking the exact same thing(more or less). as for the girls they where drawn well and quite good on the eyes, but its your typical shonen art. and for the scenery and all that other good stuff those where done quite exceptionally as well. the art has got to be my most favorite thing about the manga very well done.
characters- 7
well the cast isn't really unique that much you got your main guy oji, guy wants to get better at one thing and your childhood friend that has a crush on him but is really tsundere like about it and of course hes oblivious to the fact that she likes him. there's also the club pres who is hot! just like to through that out there. Though I would like to add that oji, gets in boss mode before he takes a picture and gets all epic and "handsome" and become a god like being that can seduce any girl he wants and can make them fall to his whim and do whatever he wants them to do. i found that to be quite funny. as for the other girls there your typical cast though i'd like to add that you get your variety of women in this story so for you guys and gals that have a preference to a certain characters you'll get them here.
story- 6
this was not that great to tell you the truth. I mean the premise is nice but after a while it gets quite repetitive and your like, "yeah shes hot, but when is it actually going to progress..." that's what i got out of it at least. I mean don't get me wrong the foundation for this to be a great story is there but it seems to be pushed in the back burner for now. maybe because its not over yet that i think this way but for now its not that great.
enjoyment- 8
Though the story is not that good, i still enjoyed it very much, i mean some of those shoots where just erotically awesome. i mean i'm a huge fan of ecchi and if a story has got that you can definitely catch me reading or watching that for the sole purpose of that.(problem? :P) the comedy will make you laugh, i found myself laughing pretty hard at times. and i got to say the club president is probably one of the most seductive people you will ever see, well at least shes tops the charts for me. i was thoroughly enjoyed glued to this manga, not having to take breaks to see what was on TV or taking my mid read naps like some other stories.
overall- 7 for now maybe a 8 later...
this is a great story to take a break and just enjoy some ecchi girls making sexy yet beautiful poses. you will not be disappointed if your an ecchi enthusiast. but if your looking for a beautiful romance story where you'll cry at the time when the heroine and hero get to together at the end you'll be sadly disappointed. but i will definitively recommend this, so go ahead give it a shot you just might enjoy it. thanks and have a wonderful day or night.
