This is the third book in the series, and was much thicker than the other 2 books. I honestly didn't know what to expect with this volume before i read it, since it seemed all that could possibly happen had already happened. I found this book to be a very fast read (I couldn't stop reading it). Just a heads up to readers, this book has some violent scenes and some moments I just sort of cringed at.
Art:
The art was beautiful as always, but I was sort of disappointed of how there weren't too many drawings in the book. I just love her style though.
Story:
The plot twist made the story take a very interesting turn, and I like how the author did what she did with laying out the story. She didn't have the character realize everything of what had been going on until later as the story progressed. It just wasn't him being told about everything that would have the readers gripping their chairs waiting for his reaction, in the first 5 pages. I found this book enjoyable like the rest. For those who wanted more sexy time, this book makes up for the rest. It is much more graphic and has many more instances of it. There was also a lot more violence in this book compared to the others, but I think it made the story work more. I am always shocked at the stuff the author comes up with. It's a very moving story, that can be a tad bit depressing (it brought me to tears on occasion).
The thing I didn't like about this book was the side story at the end. All of the side stories were involving the main characters, but the last one just didn't work good for me. Some new characters were involved and it was nice to see where the characters were and what they were doing. The thing that annoyed me was that the two main characters personalties were almost stripped. They just didn't seem like the same people in the main story; they just weren't as unique anymore. Also the 2 other characters that were involved were kind of annoying, and kept having a really bad relationship that just didn't make much sense. One guy is always crying, and the other guy is "MMHMH GET AWAY FROM ME" one moment then "PLZ LIVE WITH ME" 10 seconds later. They also had sex like 10 times in a row, which was not only kind of annoying to read but also kind of gross. The sex scenes were just way too many, and too close to each other in this side story.
Overall:
I love the characters and I think they are both really interesting. I enjoyed this series, and glad it was was pretty realistic and not a story where everything is lovey dovey and happy 24/7. I would not recommend this story for the light at heart though, since there are several cases of violent beatings and it's a kind of chaotic story. It's definitely a refreshing series, compared the the run of the mill yaoi novels/manga out on the market. read more

My GOD.. finally.. after searching it for like FOREVER!! I finally read it!! So here it goes~
Warning: This is gonna be long and might say some spoilers. OTL
Story: 7/10
The 3rd and last installment of the Cold Series. And I must say.. THIS IS SUCH A DEPRESSING NOVEL. No kidding. I was really really excited to read Cold Fever because I really really loved the previous novels, Cold Sleep and Cold Light. But after reading it.. well I didn't feel regret nor disappointment.. instead.. I just feel REALLY SAD. UPSET. DEPRESSED.
I dunno if it's just me being a crybaby or not but I cried.. in like EVERY SCENES! No, it's not because the scenes were very touching.. instead it was really too much for me to take in. Violence, drama and some emotions I can't really explain. T^T
why it's too much? It's because.. I see the novels, Cold Sleep and Cold Light, as a bitter yet very sweet and not too complicated stories. But Cold Fever is ALMOST like an entire different level.
In Cold Fever, Tohru will regain his memories from before the accident!! But the thing is.. HE LOST his 6 YEARS of MEMORIES when he had the amnesia. HOW CLICHED IS THAT?!!! ARGH!
Meaning, he FORGOT all the memories he had spent with Fujishima in those 6 years!! And of course he only remembered his hatred for Fujishima. :c and you can already tell what will happen. Without his 6 years of memories, Tohru came back to who he really was. The Tohru who is short-tempered, abusive, impatient person. He tortures Fujishima. He's so horrible and mean to him.. forces him to have sex with him. And what DEPRESSED me more is that.. even in the end.. Tohru didn't regain his 6 years of memories AT ALL. T_T
And even if the scene is not really worth crying over.. I can't help myself but to cry a little because I keep remembering those sweet times that Tohru and Fujishima had shared before. If felt like Cold Sleep and Cold light were a waste instead. Seriously.
Though it was STILL a happy ending.
Art: 8/10
I dunno if it's just me but I think the art kinda changed. o.o I kinda prefer the art in Cold Sleep and Cold Light. But still it's looks nice.
Characters: 6/10
Ugh.. I dunno what to say.. I really really loved Tohru in Cold Sleep and Cold Light.. he was so sweet and all.. but in this novel.. I can't help myself but to HATE HIM COMPLETELY!
I mean, I remembered this particular line of Tohru in Cold Light:
"You keep saying I'll leave you when I get my memory back, but that's not true, I won't. Because I love you. No matter what the me before I lost my memory says, I'll convince him. I'll tell him I love you."
It was really so sweet that it moved me to tears. And the last scene in Cold Light.. wherein Tohru baked a cake for Fujishima on his birthday. That scene was sooooo sweet! So whenever I remember that, my eyes were starting to get teary because I know that in this novel.. that Tohru will never ever come back...
For me in my opinion.. the Tohru (who regained his memories) is not really inlove with Fujishima. He's just obsessed with the thought of "I don't want to be alone anymore" and that's why he's still with Fujishima in the end.. but I hope that's just my imagination. Haha
And Fujishima also.. I really felt so sorry and sad for him.. but I'm kinda annoyed with him, too because even though Tohru was abusing him.. he was taking it without a complaint or something.
Though I said I really really hated Tohru in this one.. but my hatred for him decreased in the later scenes (in Last Fever) but still.. I will really miss the old Tohru. The Tohru who really loves Fujishima so much. The Tohru who loves to bake cakes... awww.. :c (For your information, he retired from being a patissier and became a photographer =.=)
Enjoyment: 8/10
I'm not really sure how to score this one.. but I guess I'll give it an 8 despite what I've been saying up there. After all.. I really loved the Cold Series.. but for me.. Cold Sleep and Cold Light were really ENOUGH. Cold Fever is alright.. I still liked it.. but I don't think I will read it again because I might cry again.
Overall: 7/10
Hmm.. this novel made me so cry so much!! GAAH! But I still like it.. :c but for those people who really want to read it.. then don't expect sweet moments. Because it's not like that at all. Maybe in the last scene (in Last Fever). Just think of it as "the seme who wants to bully his uke" XD
If you haven't read Cold Sleep or Cold Light.. I guess it's alright to read this one, too. There's a recap at the beginning and you will understand what happened from before. And I must say.. you will not feel that sad nor depressed (well that is if you haven't read the previous novels). read more
