They both deal with girls being bullied in school over some 'silly' reasons and how they must over come them with strength of the mind.
The heroines of both stories give off a similar feeling - cool, distanced, yet also warm. Both are discovering true feelings and learn how to be sincer with themselfes. I enjoyed Saruyama a lot, Akuma isn't yet finished, but I hope it'll evolve in a nice love-story, too ;)

The male characters in both series seem to be around the same models and both main girls deal with a bit of teasing from their classmates (although it seems like it's less so in Hijiki's case).
Both heroines are loners who are very perceptive and who are not afraid to speak their minds; despite their bluntness, both eventually get appreciated and befriended. Warau Kanokosama is more like a series of short s stories, however, with the same main character.
Both the main characters don't show their feelings, they're misunderstood by people (ex: Kiri is actually really good at cutting hair, while Maria has no bad intenions and just wants friends.) They are also both looked down on by people.

They are also both love triangles. In both stories, one of the guys dislike the girl, but soon comes to like her, while the other guy has always been friendly to her. Both guys are also best friends in both mangas.

Both the girls have also done something wrong to their mom when they were kids.
I've been a long time fan of Akuma to Love Song. In Akuma, the main character is outwardly very cold and is bluntly honest, though, inwardly, she is truly trying to help people. She struggles to show affection and to become closer to others. The people close to her (the two main male characters) begin to understand her and the become good friends as the rest of the class begins to accept her.

I recently came across Sarashi Asobi, and, though there are only 4 chapters released, I am enjoying it so far not only because of the plot, but also because the art is reminiscent of Meru Puri. The main character is a girl who is the student council president that is feared by all the students for her harsh way of speaking. In her head, she is very caring and is always trying to help everyone, but the other students perceive her to be fierce and violent. There is only one boy who really understands her and another who is a bored shinigami who decided to make a game out of helping her reveal her true self before she meets her expiration date...

Overall, both are very lovely manga!
Both are about a girl who is misunderstood by her classmates. Though Kimi ni Todoke is more light-hearted, fans of one are sure to enjoy the other as well.
They are both shoujo and romances, and it would seem that the similarities will end there. Yet Mars and Akuma to Love Song had one quality I really liked: they probed into subjects that people normally don't talk about. Mars is, of course, hands down, the most thought-provoking of the two, and while I wouldn't call Akuma to Love Song to be "deep" there is a sense---even in the beginning--that the characters have more depth and hidden parts of themselves that aren't seen in the surface. Maria is blunt and straightforward in everything she does and says; she has no qualms about saying harsh truths, which often ends up offending people and making lots of enemies. She also has a remarkable quality of "seeing through people" and understanding the more selfish motivations behind what people say, often tearing down people's masks of civility to reveal a darker part of themselves... Yet despite this Akuma to Love Song is far more light-hearted in nature than Mars. Mars deals about the issues of suicide, rape, and death in a far more personal way; in a way that really causes you to feel how terrible these issues really are. Akuma to Love Song, in contrast, so far from what I read ( which is till chapter 40), mentions these issues in passing, not really going down to gritty details and asking tough questions the way Mars does.

Overall, I love Akuma to Love Song's characters more because they are so unique from characters i read so far in any anime/manga I read so far. Yet I feel I like the subject matter more in Mars and the way they handled the darker sides of life.

If you like one, you might like the others. I encourage you to give Mars and Akuma to Love Song, a chance.
About tough girls who seem to be more them they appear outside
Both stories bully the main character over a guy.
The plot lines to the story aren't similar, but they're both done by the same author. Akuma to love song is longer than ouji ka prince, but all in all, I believe both stories were done nicely, the art was also really good ^_^
The heroines are misunderstood and hated by their peers because of their cold and indifferent personalities. But deep down, they actually have a strong desire to help others in order to gain their acceptance/friendship.
These two are so similar. The main character can amazingly 'see through' people, since they're good at figuring people out. The main guy is antisocial. One main character from both mangas are popular. The main characters get bullied. The romances are adorable and the characters are unique. If you like one, you'll like the other.
both manga are about a girl who appears cold on the outside but in reality wants to be more friendly with people.
Both stories are about a bullied school girl, two guys (one guy always smiling & open-hearted, one guy shy & restrained) who stand by her side and support her. Even some mean persons change through experiencing the protagonist. Both mangas deal with school life and romance.

Both girls have the ability to see through the persons inner/true feelings. Romance ;)
The main female character on this histories are outcasts
Maria and Sakura have different personality, but both mangas have a love triangle and people bothering the two girls
These mangas have a very similar feel to them. The main characters scare off their classmates unintentionally. However, they both work very hard to become more approachable. Along the way, they go through many trials in their effort to make friends and be properly understood.
Both have strong and occasionally foul-mouthed heroines. Both plots are a mix of the comical, dramatic, and sad.

Just, beware of the smut in Sakuran! :D
Naka is beautiful, the only problem is, she's scary. Although she doesn't have attitude problems as much as Maria does, nor is she anti-social. Naka is an aspiring model but maybe she's got no potential since her face is just so scary.
Maria could be branded as anti-social. But despite her sharp tongue, she wants to change and tries to lovely transform although she tends to become even more scarier when she tries to. But nevertheless, Maria wants to change for the better.

Sunako of Yamato Nadeshiko is also anti-social and she loves scary things. She's the exact opposite of Maria who wants to be loved. Sunako is detached to the world and she doesn't want to change. She hates beautiful things and her friends are dummies from anatomy class. She's happy with her life, the only problem is, the four guys she's living with are the ones who tries to change her into a beautiful fine lady. And she hates their schemes for 'the perfect girl evolution' transformation.
About a girl who went through adversity in her past and comes to change in their new situation. From here, these noble heroines do what they can to change themselves, inspire others, and pull these people into their "inner circle". Both Kyoko and Maria are very admirable to look up to and can be "pure" in their sense of feelings [also can be very straightforward & determined and happen to appeal to frills or fantasy]. They are without parents since early childhood, and are seen facing relentless bullying/torment, but eventually soften these people into friends (including the male leads, both whom first disdained [but not bully] the protagonist until they admired these never-ending efforts). Coincidentally, these male interests had some form of trauma when pursuing fame in their early childhoods, but, thanks to these girls, recover from and are dealing with their past.

These two mangas are also brilliant in a literary sense. (i.e.- themes of perception and what we ourselves perceive [Akuma], price of vengeance [SB!], the past that haunts us, sins and beginning anew, etc.). Both stories deserve the upmost regard as they are highly unique and are backed up with the most fantastic art, mind-bending tragedy, and top-notch comedy that, indeed, make them some of the best shoujo mangas out there.
Maria like Mei could be branded as anti-social. The two of them have similar problems at school, with friends etc. And they have someone who cheers them.

its kind of similar because there is this girl in "good luck" named shi hyeon. Shi hyeon is really ignored by everybody for they say she is bad but she's actually not. there's really kind of connection between devil and her love song and good luck. just check it out!
Both have girls who can be bitter at times. They also both have girls who are clueless that guys are in love with them.
They are both shoujo mangas about girls with harsh tounges, but pure hearts, who just can't get along with others. Then they met somebody and their life start to change. (But Kimi wa Girlfriend is a typical shoujo and Akuma to Love Song is more untypical and deep one. And in Akuma lo Love Song the protagonist is the honest one, but in Kimi wa Girlfrient the heroine just can't be honest with her own feelings.)
