SynopsisWhen darkness falls on the foggy streets of London, demons and monsters emerge to prey on human life. But demons aren’t the only ones prowling the streets. Two women have picked up the fight as humanity’s frontline defense against the darkness--a young gun-toting nun named Sister Meg and her mysterious, eternally youthful partner Angela. Together, they have made it their life’s work to spend their nights hunting the vile demons that stalk mankind.

Tetragrammaton Labyrinth (which I will be referring to as TetraLab during the rest of the review, if you don't mind) is a very INTERESTING manga, to say the least. Now let us go over the categories:
Story: 8/10
I am a fan of the monster of the week.
Shocking yes. How could anyone love episodic battles?!
Yes, well that what the first volume of TetraLab basically is.
Until an intresting hook catches you at the end.
And then you begin to realize each "monster of the week" from then on...really isn't a monster of the week. That they are all..."connected" in some way or another.
That this nun and this little girl aren't just fighting demons because they have nothing better to do, or its on their conscious.
OH and did I mention this is a yuri series? :3
I am not...particularly fond of yuri (though I always seem to unknowingly pick it up at the book store--DAMMIT!) so I was happy to see that there really WAS no yuri until the fourth volume. Thanks for preserving my sexuality, Mr Itou. :D Ehehehe. (But when you think about it, this would be more of a shoujo-ai, even.)
Art 10/10
There is nothing much to say except HOW THE HELL DOES HE DO IT? The cute rounded faces meshed with bloody battle scenes that DON'T look cheesy in the least. And then there's the ethereal monsters, the turn o the century scenery, and then in volume 3: NEPAL. PEOPLE.
Character = 6/10
Oy vey.
Where do I start?
Hmmm....well to put it simply, there are many cliches.
Like with the subject of Hajime: "Oh, seeing as this is a MANGA and my two main characters are British and Napolese, let's insert a Japanese girl for kicks!" At least, that's what it felt like. And Hajime didn't even really have that much of a background, ro any depth to her either. But there was something about her that was just fudging awesome anyway, :)
And then there is Boobs/Glasses-san. I can never remember her name, but she, like Hajime, also felt like an insert, yet was also strangely awesome.
Meg and Angela? Your standard "we have a dark past together that we never ever speak of" two, if you understand that.
Angela is your standard kuudere (Google it, :D). Meg is the...OK lets face it, she's kind of a Woobie.
And they earn themselves a 6 because I, an otaku who will generally like almost every single friggin' character in a show...has no liking of them and thinks the extremely minor characters kick more ass than they do.
Enjoyment = 9/10
Reading it was just cool. :)
Any fans of the macabre will like this. And the religious add-ins only...ADD to it. And then Mr. Itou's insert comics at the end made me laugh EVERY SINGLE time I read them.
Overall = 9/10
Good job, Mr. Itou. :) read more
