Chocotto Sister (Manga)

Both are incredibly heartwarming stories where the male protagonist has a little girl appear out of seemingly nowhere and he alone is responsible for taking care of her as her new big brother. The stories are told amazingly well where the characters experience many valuable life lessons like love and heartbreak, dysfunctional families and the importance of being together with loved ones, and the significance of responsibilities and keeping promises. Both little girls, Choco and Yuzuyu are blindingly cute, and they will make you want to keep reading right from start to finish.

They have almost the same boy-meets-girl ordeal except in Chocotto Sister, of course, she takes the role of the main's younger sister. The story also kinda follows the daily life and experiences of Choko like Chobits does with Chii. If you want a manga with the same feel as Chobits then Chocotto Sister comes very close.

In both, the male protagonist's life changes when a young girl(s) starts to live with him. Both titles are mostly light-hearted in nature, though romance and drama is also apparent.

Comedy, slice-of-life, romance, and some drama highlight similarities between these two series. Both are light-hearted, and often do not dwelve into heavily dramatic situations many would expect in seinen series with a romance focus.

The premise of both titles revolve around a male protagonist and the sudden appearance of a younger girl in his life (a sister in Chocotto Sister and a daughter in Otaku no Musume-san). Both titles also showcase apartment life through the frequent appearance of neighbours.
