SynopsisKatagiri Aoi lives in the countryside, and likes it just fine there. Yet, to her dismay, her parents are moving to Tokyo, and she has to come along. Just before leaving her home town, however, she has a chance encounter with a visiting Tokyoite, Sugita Tsuyoshi, a city-born playboy type. On impulse, he kisses her--only to realize that this kiss, unlike all the others, carries unexpected meaning for them both. |

Mucha Kucha Daisuki starts off just fine. With a kiss between a country girl and a guy from Tokyo. That's pretty much where it stops being fine and goes on to being pretty much disastrous.
I'm a sucker for shoujo mangas. I admit it. I don't mind your usual passive girl, and a tough cool guy jumping through panels to save her. As long as the characters are consistent and likable, and the art is good, I don't mind that it lacks in realism.
The main female character in Mucha Kucha Daisuki is a moron. I mean, she must be, because she gets played around like an idiot and everything has to be explained to her. The author attempted to use her rural origin as an excuse for her being clueless, but she only succeeded in insulting girls of rural origin.
The main male character is tolerable, but the fact that he's in love with such a useless girl it renders him as useless as she is.
The 'bad' guy who comes between our protagonists has no character whatsoever. In three volumes of this manga he does not develop one. He just goes around being an asshole. His actions are completely arbitrary, especially because we don't get to see that he likes Aoi.
There's no chemistry in this manga. Even Shimaki Ako's art could not save this one. read more

Both have a similar storyline = bittersweet. Even the art has a similar feel.
Mucha Kucha Daisuki is shorter compared to Boku no Hatsukoi. Their ending is different in the sense that Boku no Hatsukoi ended like a cliffhanger whereas Mucha Bucha Daisuki had a proper closure. The situation of the guy in Boku no Hatsukoi is similar to the situation with the girl in Mucha Bucha. But nonetheless they are really both similar like 80% similarity.
Both manga have a heroine and a guy who meet and fall in love, vowing to be together as they grow old. But, nothing can be perfect as there are love triangles for the girl and the guy, as well as unexpected events land some of them in a hospital...

There is the popular handsome guy whom almost every girl adores, and there is the girl who doesn't fit in with the rest. Through many coincidences, they meet and fall in love rather quickly with each other, soon to the point where they cannot be without the other. But there are secrets and people who stand in the way.
