SynopsisAfter throwing away his dreams a boy wanders into "Wonderland" and he holds the name of "Alice" which is the primary requirement in the "Game to kill the White Rabbit". In a crazy story where common sense does not apply and everything is bound by the rules of the game and the orders of the Queen of Hearts, Alice decides to take the gun in his hand.

A very interesting concept, overal. I found it by accident, but am very happy I did. A majority (if not all, depending on your personal opinion on how important certain characters are) of the main characters are male, and though I am unsure of my exact feelings about that, I can say that I'm interesting in seeing any other character developements that may occur. There are a few moments that may make you tilt your head in confusion, and there are some events that I personally see as a bit strange, but the overall storyline is very enjoyable, and there is very little to no 'useless' events.
Overall, I recommend this to anyone who enjoys Alice in Wonderland and is looking for a new twist on the story and its characters. However, I also warn that younger people and those with a very childish view on the original story may be disappointed, as this is in no was a 'cute' portrayal of it. The story contains guns and death, as well as a crossdresser and I mildly portrayed sex scene(at least, I'm pretty sure what that is. If anyone knows what I'm refering to, but does not believe that's what it is, I'm open to discussion). But there is no overly-mature content, so as long as you are able to look at the storyline, events, and characters with an open mind, and don't mind some mild language and violence, there is no oustandingly objectable content. read more

Are You Alice? is a modern day and somewhat alternative version of Lewis Carroll's novel Alice in Wonderland. The manga starts with a young man wandering the streets of a land he does not know when a tall man with cat ears calls him out by the name "Alice." Not knowing his own name, he takes the name of Alice but, does not know that this name comes with a price. All though this world seems random and confusing, Wonderland is carefully governed under the Queen of Heart and many, many rules. One of the rules is that Wonderland must have an Alice. In order for the boy with no name to become Alice he must play the game of "Kill the White Rabbit." With the assistance of a man know as the Mad Hatter, Alice , equipped with a gun that can only kill the White Rabbit, travels and searches all over Wonderland for the White Rabbit. Through his journey Alice meets many difference characters, some who wish to help him and some who want nothing more than to destroy him.
Are You Alice is a personal favorite of mine, Although it is not for everyone. For starters; Are you Alice is very, very confusing. With strange events and a story line that flips form different points of view it is very easy to get lost. But, it is a very interesting and compelling story. It combines action, fantasy, mystery and psychological themes with an awesome cast a characters in a mysterious world. The art is absolutely FANTASTIC! Some of the most beautiful artwork I've ever seen. Every page is beautifully detailed and spectacular! Over all I highly recommend Are You Alice? to anyone who enjoys Alice in Wonder or want to read a shoujo/josei manga with a psychological twist. read more

Alice in Wonderland references. The character designs are quite similar. The main characters - Oz and Alice (AYA?) are dragged into a abyss/world where they don't belong. They're personalities are quite similar but Alice seems a bit older than Oz. Gil/Mad-hatter has to protect Oz/Alice. Gil and Mad-hatter are very similar in character design and personality.
Both characters are dragged into a plot where they have to find something. Alice, a white rabbit and Oz, shards of memories.
Genres are also very similar.
Note: Alice is a guy.
In both the main protagonist is a blonde boy (Alice/Oz) who is dragged to a dangerous world (Abyss/Wonderland) where Shadows/Chains exist. Also, he has some connection to Alice, and there is more than one Alice. Also many similarities in the characters situations or personalities: a noble girl who befriends the protagonist (Duchess/Sharon), a guy with lack of memories (Break/Mad Hatter), a tormented cat that is related to Alice´s past (Cheshire/Dinah), a mysterious important character that appears in visions/dreams (Marianne/Jack), a girl that hates and blames someone for a certain situation (Regret/Lotti), a boy that did everything for the person he cared for, even if that costs the life of others (Vincent/White rabbit), a cruel character that reigns in the Abyss/Wonderland (Queen of Hearts/Will of the Abyss).
If you liked one, you certainly like the other:)
Mystery mangas with Alice in Wonderland's references. The main boy/man is dragged to a world full of mysteries where he has to search for answers and is often caught in other characters' memories.

Alice in Wonderland adaptations filled with cute, twisted guys and aimed at a female audience. Wonderland is quite a dangerous place for the Alices to wander around.
Both of these manga are based on Lewis Caroll's Alice In Wonderland but are more bloody retellings. Also, these both contains humanized, bishounen versions of most of the non-human characters and both have an feeling of darkness. They both have unique comedy that's slightly macabre. Both of these manga were also adapted from games.
