Post-apocalyptic manga set in a desert wasteland ruled by violence. The protagonist is a large, muscular man who uses inhuman strength to fight against bandits and the underlings of his rival who rules over the new world. They have a focus on martial arts and are extremely violent.

While Violence Jack is a lot more mature in its content, the narrative style between both mangas is very similar. Both start out with simple stories about groups of gangsters/criminals facing off against an unbeatable hero, who gains the appreciation of several characters as the story progresses, and those characters join the hero's side in order to reach their individual objectives. One Piece, like Violence Jack, also gradually transforms its initially simple plot into a larger, all-encompassing, story of wars and political conflicts, and the characters that originally only held some small influence on their surroundings now see themselves facing off against the largest forces  read more

Legend of the Super-beast and Violence Jack share an awful-lot in common. both have an amnesiac protagonist with superhuman strength who fight against evil thugs, rapists, criminals, etc. And both are set in a bleak and deserted wasteland. Legend of the Super-beast is pretty much what would happen if Toshio Maeda did his own version of Violence Jack.
