Synopsis

Ogasawara Aki (age 25) is the reclusive, idealistic composer of the popular band Crude Play. Discontented with his life and with no drive to succeed, he meets Riko, the 16-year-old grocer's daughter in a band consisting of her childhood friends, and asks her to be his girlfriend on a whim. Riko, young and innocent, agrees immediately, but worries about her new boyfriend, whom she suspects has just broken up with a woman he cared very much for.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have read up to ch 11 so far and i am honestly hooked.

The storyline for this is absolutely unpredictable - well 90% of the time.. ^^. I cannot wait to see how the story progresses

I like the fact that Aoki-sensei always shows the point of view (inner thoughts) of both Aki and Riko.

From the music side of things, like NANA (before the anime and LA), it really makes you think what the music sounds like as well.. I really really hope that an OVA or anime comes out from this (not really a big fan of read more

Having finished reading chapter 24 not 5 minutes ago & reading it in a matter of two days, I'm giving a freshly read Review, try to bear with me.

The thing I loved most about this manga & was very addicting was the way the storyline felt unique yet still an almost typical shoujo manga where the guy is older & the girl is younger, he's her first real love, complications of lies & truth are involved with a sideline of comedy.
Overall, I'd give the storyline a 9 out of 10!

Riko is the typical shoujo manga girl who falls in love after one day or read more

Same music manga. Same unexpected encounter.
In both mangas, I can't help but think of the other manga, both Nana & Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru are about music, romance with older men, naivety. In spite of Nana being josei & Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru being shoujo, both are enjoyable & makes you just want to imagine exactly what kind of music/vocals/lyrics are being used in the stories! If one is liked then the other will being enjoyable! {Sidenote, Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru is more light-hearted & easygoing while Nana is more dramatic & emotional}
Skip Beat . . . & . . . Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru . . are both about showbiz but are different too, Skip Beat is about Acting mostly whereas Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru is about the Sing/Music. Both are about 16 year old girls & relationship with older guys. Skip Beat is biggest on Comedy while Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru is biggest on Romance, yet, if you love one then you'll definitely like the other! {Sidenote, Skip Beat is currently longer than Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru}
The One . . . & . . . Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru . . are both about young girls who are suddenly decided to be famous The One's Lele chosen to be a model while Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru's Riko scouted to be a singer (with her band). Both are interested in famous & older guys before meeting in person & going into their chosen fame career somewhat because of the guys, both meeting them at first without knowing who they are at first, both falling in love with the older guys. Both manhua/manga are filled with serious career decisions, lots of romance, with sides of comedy! If you like one then the other is a must-read! {Sidenote, The One is currently longer than Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru}
A prominent theme in both series revolves around music. It takes the very essence of music and focuses it directly with the characters as they try to follow a dream. Both series adapts drama with stories revolving the daily lives of the main characters. There is romance present in both series. Do take note that Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru takes romance in a more mature style while Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is more innocent. Both series also creates an environment where there's competition not with interpersonal but also the professional/talent lives of the main characters.
The music industry, songwriters and romance - these are shoujo/ josei manga that where the female mc is approached by a songwriter who keeps his identity hidden and needs a female muse / gf in order to create his best songs. The guys both have previous hits and need the inspiration of a new muse to bring out the romance in their music, they also don't mind using the girl for their own purposes. In Kanojo, the female lead is also a singer, but in Aishiterutte, she is not.
