This review is all opinion based. If you prefer stories that have more outspoken and realistic heroins, then you may agree with my criticism about the characters and story.
I thought this manga was some weird sex maniac's ecchi manga at first. Now, don't get me wrong, i like ecchi mangas sometimes, but this was weirdly unrealistic... SPOILER!!! (The amount of times she nearly got raped and didn't utter a tear was weird... i started to think she was some sadistical protagonist who liked to be fiddled with). The story, however, became much more genuine, apart from there being vampires and monsters in it, but that's what the story is about. A story did start to develop nicely and end very nicely, indeed.
I didn't like the art... not really, anyway. I may be shallow in saying this, but i like to look at a nice looking guy or girl when i'm reading a manga, and, yes the main girl - Hiyo- was pretty, but Kouro was just not my type with his impressively pointy chin. However the monsters in the manga were drawn really really well.
Now, the characters, despite my rant about Hiyo being a bit "easy" with all the things that happen to her, were well devised. I loved how each of their personalities shown through.
Overall, i rated this manga "good" as, although the story progressed, i nearly stopped reading this manga due to the strangeness at the beginning. But!!! If you are to read this manga, carry on doing so, as it does get a lot better ;)

Love Monster was a great shoujo manga. If you like the romance type, with funny characters, and a serious plot on the side then you're gonna love this manga. The story revolves around a girl named Hiyo who goes to a school for monsters where you meet Kurou who is one of the leading monsters in the monster society because he is a crow. One of my favorite parts about the manga was learning all about his past with Hiyo and seeing their relationship evolve into something much, much bigger than the two of them.
Later in the series you find out what their destiny and the fates that they're meant to follow and it honestly just kind of melts your heart when you see how much they truly love each other.I would have liked to see a little more character developement from some of the characters especially Hiyo, but I loved all of them just as much with or without it. What can I say? I'm a sucker for love. -_-"
The ending is one of the cheesiest I've seen in a shoujo manga, but you really love it because it fits with the whole story. It's completely cute and adorable so I recommend this series for anyone who just wants to feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the end. ^^ read more

Both are about a young girl with special power, which is saved and protected by a very good looking winged demon. And both are a little smut. Though Love Monster is a little more.
Normal girl and monster guy type set up.
they both have a girl with something supernatural about then. and a guy with black wings. and then they fall in love, but they have obstacles to overcome together while falling for each other.
Similiar main characters (black bird & MOE damsel in distress)...
School setting and surrounded by other handsome male monsters around..
A little rated content also for both... many similiarities but plot is different.
Both involve a story where one girl is wanted by many other monsters. In black bird is may be for the girls blood, hand in marriage, and in love monster reasons also vary. Another similarity is that both lead girl characters are protected by a handsome male monster that wants their hand in marriage.
there is a girl who falls in love with a perverted not human character in both of these mangas and she faces many problems..

they're both the same in the way that......
..in gakuen alice, students possess diff. kinds of alices and they're not allowed to go outside the school with a strong barrier w/ it, as well as in Love monster students are gathered in a school who are monsters..
[how is this both similar? they're stuck up in one school because they're diffrent from ordinary humans and so why they're gathered up in a school]
Both are amazing series with mystery, comedy, romance, school life and great plot lines. Though neither series sounds too interesting from its descriptions, both are great! Read them, for sure!
