SynopsisGenius-level freshman Tomoe Tatsumi was smart enough to get accepted into a private college in Tokyo, but too naive to realize there wouldn't be enough money left over for rent. So, how is it that he's living in a fabulous apartment for less than most people pay for a single room?
It is thanks to white-collar worker Mitsugu Kurokawa, a good Samaritan with an ulterior motive: to love, honor, and cherish this irresistibly charming student until his dying days! ...Which may come sooner than not if Tomoe's violently homophobic older brother Souichi has any say in the matter.

I'll start by saying that i only starting reading this after i read Koi Suru Boukun (the sequeal) first.
Because of Koi Suru Boukun (i'll just call it KSB) i kinda know what happens, so i guess I'm just reading it to find out how they came to be.
[ Story - 6 ]
The story is simple enough: Guy (Mitsugu) assists other guy (Tomoe) by helping him find his way and offering his a place to stay. Then Mitsugu falls in love with Tomoe, even though he's straight, and thus the story progresses.
[ Art - 6 ] + [ Characters - 6 ]
The manga is old so the drawings aren't top-knotch - like some mangas these days - but still clean and readable. The story is simple and the charters aren't very deep or defining. It's just a happy story about how 2 people become lovers.
[ Enjoyment - 7 ]
The comedy was uplifting. Had my self laughing out loud a few times (thanks to Tomoe's older gay-hating brother, who appears in KSB as the Tyrant)
[ Overall - 6 ]
It's simple, funny and time-filling. If you're going to read this then i strongly suggest you read KSB afterwards. Again, if you started with KSB - like i did - then this isn't really required. KSB explains the relationship between Mitsugu & Tomoe enough for you to work out how they met.
Thanks for reading my review. Feedback + comments are appreciated ♥

These mangas have the same author and the same charactors. Challengers centers around Tomoe and Kurokawa, while Koi Suru Boukun focuses on Tomoe's homo-hating brother Souichi and his assistant Tetsuhiro.
