SynopsisThe winds of fate are blowing through the realm of Midgard. Ragnarok, the prophesized fall of the gods, is at hand, and the age of Man is set to begin. But the ancient gods are not about to resign themselves to fate. They have sent their elite warriors, the Valkyries, to scour the land for those destined to bring about Ragnarok. If the event can be prevented, the reign of the gods will continue for another 1000 years.
Fenris Fenrir knows Ragnarok must happen. She is on a desperate search to find the reincarnation of Balder, the fallen god, with whose help she can change the world. But if the Valkyries find him first, Fenris's quest may be over before it even begins.

Well, Ragnarok is definitely one of the most top selling manwha. Myung Jin-Lee's Ragnarok started as a manwha and now we all play it on the computer. Still, there is a similarity between them and a difference.
I give the story a Very Good rating. The story is definitely based from the Scandinavian or the Norse Mythology. This goes to show that Myung Jin-Lee is also a big researcher about the Norse Mythology and to its gods and goddesses. There are also characters in the manwha that are taken from the mythology. Take for example Chaos, Fenris, and Loki. They are from the Norse Myth.
I give the art an Outstanding rating. Myung Jin-Lee not only knows how to illustrate static panels but he really knows how to illustrate action scenes. You can really understand how they fight with other characters. Myung Jin-Lee also cares about his background art especially those supporting background characters. He also designs the clothes very well.
I give the characters a Very Good rating. Some of the characters in the manwha are taken from Norse Mythology. Kidding aside, Myung Jin-Lee really developed the personalities of the characters. You can see serious characters, funny ones, the annoying characters, and many others.
I give the enjoyment an Outstanding rating. You will definitely enjoy reading the whole 10 volumes of the manwha. There are those really funny scenes that will make you laugh out loud. There are also interesting battles that will really caught your attention and will add enjoyment and pleasure to your reading.
Overall, I give Myung Jin-Lee's work an Outstanding rating. He really gives all he has in this manwah.
As a reviewer, I recommend you all to buy and read this manwha. It really matches your expectations and I guarantee you that you'll never regret purchasing this.
For information, Myung Jin-Lee put this manwha into a hiatus because he still has to help Gravity Corp. in their Ragnarok Online project. read more

I honestly don't know how this manga series is rated so low, so I decided to write a review about it. First off, this manga was one of my favorite series before they decided to just suddenly stop publishing it at volume 10 because the author decided to start working on the game instead. I cannot tell you how long I've been waiting for it to continue again. Therefore, I am writing a review for it in hopes of getting more people to start reading this series so that the author can start working on it again if it increases in popularity.
Story (9/10)
Ragnarok's story is amazing. While it is loosely based on Norse mythology, it twists a LOT of the original aspects of the myths, enough so that it becomes its own story altogether. I have always been fascinated by mythology (whether it be Greek, Roman, or Nordic), and so a manga that incorporated Norse myths into it immediately caught my attention. Overall, I would give the story a 9/10. It would be a 10, but the story isn't even finished yet, and it might not ever finish since the author isn't even working on it, so I figured I can't give it a 10 just yet.
Art (10/10)
The manga's art is beautiful. There are a lot of complex fighting scenes, but the art perfectly manages to capture the scenes without making it confusing.
Character (10/10)
The characters in the manga are creative and interesting. They all have unique personalities and somewhat reflect the characters of their actual Nordic counterparts. From Chaos to Fenrir to Loki, you have a cast of distinct characters who complement each other nicely.
Enjoyment (9/10)
Again, my enjoyment would be 10/10 if the series had actually continued or finished. However, the series has been on hiatus for YEARS now, so it definitely brings my enjoyment down a notch since I like to finish stories that I enjoy.
Overall (10/10)
Overall, the series would definitely be a 10/10 in my book. It'd be nice to see it actually finish, but its incompleteness does not detract from the series awesomeness overall. read more

Ragnarok is based on an online game and both are fantasy adventure series.
|
|
|
Both are manhwa of medieval MMORPG-like setting that abuse the public domain of germanic paganism.
