During a flashback, an interviewer inquires Kuzumi Taiga, a prospective student for Seinagi Private High School, on what he would do if he could use magic, during his entrance interview. He replies, "take over the world", with an outburst of laughter from an attractive girl, following his answer. After the entrance exam, the school rejects his application; although he recalls almost nothing after this event, he does recall the girl, and believes the cause of his school of choice rejecting his application involves her. Wandering around outside of the school the next day, Kuzumi tries to enter, but an invisible barrier blocks him. A teacher, Mr. Hiiragi, confuses Kuzumi for a student of the school ditching class and pulls Kuzumi into the school through the barrier. Seinagi Private High School is actually a magic school—and Kuzumi is a teenager with no magical skill.

Mx0 is a Shounen, Supernatural, Action, Romantic, Comedy that tries to do so much, of what has already been done before, but it does it all fantastically well.

The story follows your not-so-typical delinquent student (Taiga Kuzumi) who wasn’t able to get into “Seinagi Private High School” and he believes it’s the cause of a certain girl (Aika Hiiragi) during the interview. So he breaks into the school to meet her again but he’s surprised to discover that it is a magic school and after a hilarious twist of events he ends up transferring as a student of the school. Not so surprising for a shounen read more

One of the funniest manga I have read. Story could be slightly better, although it is still on a very high level. Art is very clear and indeed "great". You don't stop at one point thinking "what was that? what jus happened? did I miss something...?". Every fight, every move is shown. Characters in Mx0 are going to be remebered by you for a long time. Mostly the main character Kuzumi Taiga, but also others are developed physically and mentally. And the enjoyment of the series is undoubtful. Every time there's something going on and so you have no occasion to be bored.

Well, I just finished reading Mx0. What can I say? It is a truly enjoyable series and I am sorry that it ended prematurely. The overall score I give is 9 out of 10, which is just 1 point less than what I gave Negima, another manga series of the magical school genre, so many years ago.

The presentation of magic is creative. Instead of the traditional wands and broomsticks in other works of the same genre, namely Harry Potter and Negima, they use cards to cast spells in Mx0. And their card system is even more complex than those offered by commercial banks for their read more

This will be my first time writing a review but I think this manga deserves it.

The story is different from most magical school stories out there. We are not dealing with a magical prodigy, our protagonist isn't magician of any sort, he is just a normal person who must try to keep his lack of powers hidden from his fellow classmates that expect a lot from him due to a misunderstanding. This sets up numerous events and trials that our MC has to go through.

Any story would be boring if there was no goal at the end. Luckily this story has one, the main read more

Manga: Rosario to Vampire
Both Rosario+Vampire and Mx0 are high school Supernatural, Rom/Coms; but R+V focuses more on monsters and the romantic comedy side of things, on the other hand Mx0 focuses more on its characters and magical wizardry. ^_^

Manga: Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Nyuugaku-hen
Similarities include: schools in which students learn how to become more proficient with magic; male protagonists who have unique positions within the school system due to their special ability; the many female characters who they oftentimes interact with; and an action-oriented narrative with many references to magic tropes.

Do note however that Mx0 is mostly light-hearted, whereas Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei has a more serious tone.

Manga: Toaru Majutsu no Index
Both series deal with two guys who end up in magical situations by accident, one has a magic power of it's own tho', and one.. not. They get in to all kinds of situations involving magic and other powers, fights or just nonsense, both shows deal with a great amount of action, to both, there's also a side of comedy, drama and a bit of romance.

Manga: Boku no Hero Academia
At their core, these two manga have similar set up, so if you liked one, you should check the other too: 1) Characters go to a magic or special ability school; 2)Main characters are not originally power holders; 3) Everyone thinks the main character is the strongest but in reality the situation is way more complicated; 4) Main characters have to hide the source of their powers; 5) Main characters are supported by a charismatic teacher and it's just fun to read;

Manga: Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
In these two serialisations, there is heavy emphasis on class battles. What is more is that battles between classes take on unorthodox forms. In Mx0, magic is used; whereas in Baka to Test, avatars are summoned to fight in an RPG style.

Manga: Transfer Student Storm Bringer
Both of the stories center around a student who is feared by most of the student body for being incredibly strong, but in reality they are one of the weakest in the story. This false belief is caused by misunderstandings when they first arrived at the school and is kept up by the main character's bluffs. Now, there is a difference in the stories because MxO is set in a magical school while Transfer Student takes place in an ordinary delinquent school.
