ZE (Manga)

Starts out simple enough: a guy starts working as a housekeeper for a group of people. After you meet everyone in the house you sense an element of erotica between the housemates, and a few nose bleeds later the housekeeper (aka Raizou) feels like he’s walked into a taboo nest of pleasure!
He eventually learns why they exchange kisses without restraint but at first it came as a shock to him, and us. As the story progresses he finds himself getting tangled up in their lives and starts harbouring feelings towards a boy named Kon (as the synopsis says).

It was a little confusing, at first, trying to work out the supernatural side of things but you pick up on it pretty quickly. You learn that some of the people in the house are made out of paper and have been solely created to heal people from injuries, by either exchanging saliva or other alternative measures *wink wink nudge nudge*
So with that objective you get a lot of ‘action’ but at the same time you can’t help but support the bond that is slowly building between Kon and Raizou. Raizou has genuine feelings towards Kon, while Kon is cold and unemotional towards him. Great pair hu? Cliché but still enjoyable :)

I really started enjoying this manga a lot. It has action, drama, romance, tragedy and fantastic art. Ticks all my boxes. But the main reason why this is so enjoyable is because once it sucks you in, with all the fluffy comedy and romance scenes, it take a drive down the drama road. The drama is amazing. Truly heart aching and i found myself gasping at many scenes and events.

As the chapters roll on other stories start to come together. I personally like the arc shown as the cover page - sorry can't remember the chapters/volumes - and found their troubles much more enjoyable/tragic with less comedy.

ZE is a truly wonderful manga and i have found myself reading this many times over. It's not complete but still worth starting as you won't be disappointed! read more

This is a really good manga to read. Though it is not yet scanlated completely.

It was funny at the right places, the art is something you'll love, definitely smexy and has a plot to boot.

Mainly, in all these 11 volumes, the focus is Raizou and Kon in the supernatural world of kamis, the paper dolls used to receive and heal the wounds inflicted by the master, through exchanging of bodily fluids. Even though somewhat strange and if one isn't familiar with Japanese terms, the story can be easily understood as the rest of the chapters pass by.

Moreover, this manga really has all for it also shows the love stories of other kamis and their masters, not just focusing on Raizou alone.

To sum it up, it has all the qualities you long for in a yaoi manga rolled into one. :D read more
