7 Jikan-me Rhapsody (Manga)

7 Jikan-me Rhapsody is a good three chapters about the relationship of an energetic, responsible student and a teacher who cares too much about his students (MAL lists it to have four chapters, but the fourth in the volume is actually a one-shot that has nothing to do with the first three chapters). At first glance, the plot of this manga isn't anything special. There's nothing unique about a girl who falls for someone so unexpected. I think what makes this manga so good is that despite its plain story, everything else made up for it, even the way it was told.

I thought the art was really good, and the character designs suited all of them nicely. The characters were also well done, especially the way that they conversed with each other. It gets even more interesting when Masao is introduced in chapter two, because he adds to the silliness of everything.

I also enjoyed it a lot because of the pacing, which seemed realistic because of the plot itself. It wasn't rushed, even if there were only three chapters. So, I think it's only tiny flaw is the predictable plot, but everything else was awesome. That's why I'm giving it a 9. If you think you'll enjoy a manga that has an equal amount of sweetness and silliness, then you'll probably enjoy this. read more

This was just a very good short story. The lead girl is enthusiastic, endearing, and sincere. She takes her role as class representative extremely seriously so she's very dependable, so much so her classmates take advantage of her. She's serious, although the lead male has the tendency to make her get a bit dramatic----with reason I might add.

I thought the lead male was entertainingly silly and very OOC or out of character for any type of teacher and he's definitely not like any teacher I've ever had. He's brilliant. I won't spoil it, but he's regularly found in compromising positions with other students.

The relationship between the female student and male teacher is stressful at best, but it is a logical set up. She's 18 currently getting ready to graduate and he's 25 so it's far from unrealistic pairing. It's quite nice and I found myself laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoying the storyline and characters. It's not mundane, even if the story is unoriginal. It keeps you on your toes to see more.

The art is impressive with plenty of Bishies in it, well two to be exact. However the added story which is a short romance between a male student and a kindergarten teacher---which is more of a crush story had poor art in my opinion. However, I believe that was an earlier work of the artist. Overall great story with fantastic art, and well developed characterization that I really recommend it; especially for any Teacher-Student lover. read more
