Have you ever wanted your own personal Ninja? That is not a question that our heroine Beni Fujiwara has ever pondered, but she is about to find out what it is like! Many, many years ago, a ninja named Kagetora devoted his life to protecting Princess Beni ("Beni-Hime"). Unfortunately they are attacked, and Kagetora is flung into a lake, where he sinks to the bottom.

Beni is a modern high school girl, but her life is not quite normal. The story begins with her being threatened at knife-point. Not only that, but she is standing on the edge of the roof of a skyscraper. A struggle ensues, but things go from bad to worse when a mysterious boy appears out of thin air and lands on Beni, knocking her off the edge!

You guessed it—it's Kagetora. There was a time portal in the middle of that lake, and he has slipped forward in time to modern Japan. I suppose that if you are knocked off the edge of a skyscraper, it's good to have a ninja around, because, Kagetora is able to use some of his super ninja skills to save Beni from becoming a pavement pancake. When Kagetora lays eyes on Beni, he is convinced she is his "Beni-Hime-Sama" and swears to be her protector.

Ninja in a Shoujo genre? You don't read that often in these sort of series.

In my own opinion, most of shoujo series often revolves around in school. You got your typical popular main character then for some reason most of the entire campus have a crush on them. Others would form a club that protects him/her and if you are unworthy to get the attention of these popular people you'll be threaten and be bullied etc.... So this series is a nice change from the usual stuff.

Kagetora is a ninja who for unknown reason ended up in the future where he meets a girl that read more

This manga is profoundly different in so many ways. Yet in some way reminiscent. While enjoyable to read it went by far to quickly.

The time travel was one of the best parts about this manga. It made me consistently have to think about where the characters where in time. The quickly established relationships between the characters evolved smoothly, even with the time travel. I enjoyed watching these characters grow.

This manga is far too short, I for one wished there was more!

I highly recommend this for a quick, romantic, action packed read!

{ Story-10} Outstanding every heard of never judge a book by its cover...ya this is one of those, i mean i've probably overlooked this one numerous times. Its about a female whose had quite a rough past with her father; doing what he does for his occupation his daughter has been kidnapped and faced lots of near death situations. A shinobi from a different era falls in a lake in a attempt to save his princess who he dutifully bodyguards; unknowingly time slips to present life.

{Art-9} The art is very nice in some mangas i've come across, i had to carefully read more

This is definitely one of the best manga I have ever read. It has an AMAZING plot, a bit of action and drama, but then all the lovey dovey things a shoujo manga should have. I can really relate to the characters, and I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat due to the crazy twists and unexpected obstacles. It has so many concepts that make you think, and it just feels good to read. I recommend to anyone!!!! Yes, it's a bit lovey dovey, but overall I could see anyone reading this and enjoying it!

Manga: Kagetora
Both are about the infamous ninja "Kagetora" and how he falls into a forbidden love. However, both are told in two very different ways. In Kagetora, he is sent to be Yuki's martial arts instructor, while in Shinobi Life, he is aninja from the past that time slipped to the future, saving Beni. Both are shoujo genre and have very sweet moments. If you like Kagetora, you will definitely like Shinobi Life.

Manga: Sengoku Danshi Hana no Ran
Imagine having a ninja or a famous warrior travel through time and become your boyfriend, these shoujos let you see the trials these heros go through and troubles of the modern age that they encounter in this time period. Shinobi Life has a complex plot as they keep going back and forth in time, while the warriors in Sengoku may never be able to return to theirs. If you like the idea of a Kagetora or a famous warrior as a boyfriend read these.

Manga: Tsuki no Shippo
it's also about ninjas, it's shoujo, and the female lead character is trying to seduce the male lead character...also the art is great.

Manga: Full Metal Panic!
The male leads in both are unadjusted to normal life but find themselves living around those not accustomed to times of war. They swear to protect the respective heroines from all threats and hilarity ensues as their lack of understanding/common sense creates more problems than it solves.

FMP is aimed at males and, as a result, has MUCH more comedy in its romance than shoujo series Shinobi Life does. Only the early parts of SL are comparable, though - in fairness - FMP itself does go in a darker, more drama-oriented direction itself, as its story progresses.

Manga: Nise no Chigiri
If you like Shinobi Life, try Nisei no Chigiri - both have to do with someone traveling through time to the time of the sengoku and shinobis with the political intrigues of that time period.

Manga: Let's☆Lagoon
Time slip!, but Shinobi life is a time a slip from the future town to the past town. and in Let's Lagoon is a time slip in an Island
