Synopsis

Naoto Saki is a typical young boy. He gets average grades in school, and nothing about him really stands out. His favorite thing to do is sleep - which doesn't exactly endear him to his teachers when he dozes off in class. Whenever he falls asleep, Naoto dreams of the same fantasy world. Then one day, Naoto gets magically summoned into the very world he had once only seen in dreams! All at once, he's caught up in a battle between the powerful beings called Elphis, and a group of human-like beings called the Sand Dusts. For Naoto, this desert world of Orgos is no longer a dream-he can feel pain here, and possibly even die. He decides he'd rather not risk his life, and would like nothing more than to return home. But the pretty sorceress who summoned him in the first place has other plans for him (Source: ADV)

I liked it starting from the first site on: Even through the art of this manga might look simple at first, the power is especially in fighting scenes coming out perfectly and for every situation pretty well fitting. A little bad point at first: you may have to read it 2 or 3 times before you really get the story, but after all, it really makes scence. Different to many mangas mostly showing fights, the faces are full of emotions and are everytime reflecting very well the characters speaches and thoughts. And that's also the really best point of it: the characters. Every single one read more

Desert Coral is a unusual manga, action-based but with few fights. At the beginning it might get boring, specially through volume two, but as you read on you find it will become more and more interesting and exciting. The story might be hard to get, but if you re-read it it should all become clear.

both are about a boy and a girl finding love in a fight against the big one bad guy and they also show everything about even smaller characters.
both show people traveling in a small group of friends in a magical and old-fashioned/ancient world.
