I was actually searching for a new Manga, when I was in the Bookstore. Then my eye was coughed by the cover and the title. After I looked at the art and some sentences of the Manga, I decided to buy it. I actually didn't regret it, that I bought it.
The Story actually didn't start that good. It was a boy, who wanted to find a murderer but actually he found a new friend, who was trying to help him in anything. First he refused it but in the end of the second volume he was accepting him as a friend. It is actually like a normal friendship story, but this Manga does have even more, than 'only' Friendship stuff. The 'real' story is starting in the end volume 3, where they found an old friend of Seishiro. At volume 5 the "Real Samurais" are coming in the front, who try to get to power through the Sword and actually at Volume 5 everything started to get more interesting than before. I started crying in the last 3 volumes and it was really emotional. Even the Bonus Stories where placed really good that you actually had to cry. But at volume 7 you can see that the author wanted to stop the manga as soon as possible because everything happened in the end of volume 7 and volume 8. This was actually sad, because you actually would like to see more about the friendship between Haruma, Ibuki and the others.
The Art was first good but when volume 2 started it was much beautiful than the first volume. It is really good also the covers and the painted pages in the Mangas (per Manga one painted Page).
To the Characters:
It is awesome to see so many different types in one Manga. They do have different characters and very different styles. There are 'Fan-Boys', Twins, 'Foreigner', Prince complexes, the boy who gets loved by every girl, the silence Boy, the happy guy and even more. The character designs are really good I even do like one or two characters who are 'evil', not because they are handsome or something, it is their character and it really fits to their design, which you actually can't find always.
Enjoyment is also really high, if you love Samurais, who want to fight for their own convictions. Also this Manga is even if it's Genre is 'Action' it is also Emotional and in the first volumes (1-4) also funny.
Overall this Manga is one of the Mangas I read even if the ending was coming to fast. It is really advisable for all who do love Samurai and a Friendship, which is growing. read more
Both humorous action-filled shoujo. Oresama Teacher revolves around delinquents and fist fights, while Samurai Drive is about the descendants of samurai who carry katanas and get into sword fights. The shoujo aspect comes from both manga focusing on the need for friendship rather than romance.
