SynopsisHimuro Yukina, a girl feared by most students for her piercing glare, is secretly a famous cellphone novelist. While searching for material on 'love', something she has never experienced, she stumbles onto Shigure's, the most popular boy in school's, secret. He is actually a serious womanizer who writes down all his accomplishments in his Student ID book. Cleverly using this evidence, Yukina blackmails Shigure into love-acting and teaching her about 'love'. But Akira, Yupina's childhood friend and cousin, is not happy at all with this turn of events. Used to being the only person who's not afraid of Yukina's glare, how will he react to Yukina's sudden shift in attention? How will Shigure respond when the love-acting becomes more than just acting for him?

Great story about an unpopular high school girl who writes cell phone novels in her spare time. Her peers are scared of her because of her intense glare, so she's never had the opportunity to experience "love." When she hears her fans want more love stories, she decides she needs to experience love for herself so she can write about it and ends up blackmailing the most popular boy in her class. Although he puts on a facade of being the perfect guy, he's actually a jaded womanizer and has little respect for the people around him. The two of them battle it out, him trying to shake her off while she forces him to go along with her.
Great heroine. She has her weaknesses, but she's strong-willed and has her own interests, opposed to a lot of shoujo heroines who only think about love. She also manipulates the hero well, usually beating him at his own game, another thing you don't see too often in this genre. As for the hero, he's more of a jerk than usual, and more than once he sets the girl up for an unpleasant experience, trying to drive her off. He's also one of those types who only shows his real face to the girl, while everyone else thinks he's the perfect guy. The story is paced well; 8 chapters in, they're beginning to have feelings for each other but are still more enemies than friends.
Good story and good art. Slightly more smutty than I was expecting considering how young the characters look, but it's still fairly innocent. The romance is fairly small-scale, not a bad thing, just don't look for hardcore "destined to be together" elements or anything, it's not that type of manga. read more

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I just felt that I had to write one for this great manga.
The story interesting, with a rather overly-observant girl being shunned by her classmates, yet at the same time they're dedicated fans of her mobile phone novels.
She tricks this popular guy into doing love related things to her, so that she could understand love and begin to write about love in her novels. The way their relationship develops is what really captivates you; they slowly but steadily become very different people to the façade they show to the world.
The best thing in my opinion about this series, is that the characters are flawed- one is afraid of opening herself up to others, the other manipulative. Not being a fan of perfect stereotypical moe characters, this really did make the manga stand out.
Overall: If you're looking for a strong romantic drama, then I'd definitely recommend this ;D read more

both are about young writers trying to experience love. they also both end up using the "popular boy" in their school as their partner in doing this
Both get a fake boyfriend for the sake of there fans. For Fall in Love Like a Comic the main characte does itr for her manga, for shinasai it's for her cell phone novel. The drawing arts are different, and i think shinasai has more depth.
The plotline for both Fall in Love like a Comic and Watashi ni xx Shinasai are very similar. Both the girls (main characters) are mangaka or a romance writer respectively, and they both date the most popular guy in their school to help them find inspirations for their writing.
In terms of difference, I found that Fall in Love Like a Comic is so very cute! It is shorter than Watashi ni xx Shinasai, and a lot sweeter. To me, both have their merits :)
Neither of the manga have the same mood as each other, but the story has a heroine, who is a mangaka, who wants to experience love for the sake of her writing. By chance, she meets a guy, who by the way, is the stereotypical shojou handsome and popular guy, and starts a fake/purely physical (not in THAT way) relationship with him, but they eventually start falling for each other.

By the same artist and author but watashi is spicy where as koko is sweet.
It's written by the same author:
Watashi ni xx Shinasai is about a girl who has been cut from social contact from her peers, resulting in the fact that she knows no social skills. She is writing a novel, but her readers are desiring their to be more love instead of always friendship. The male lead is the most popular boy in the class, but he is actually quite unkind and a complete liar. The story is basically about how she blackmails him, after finding out his terrible secret, so that she can learn more about friendship and love.
"Koko Ni Iru Yo" is a contrasting story, but it has many similar characteristics, such as artwork, and the pure serenity that is not found in many manga's. Although, Watashi Ni xx Shinasai is more bold, whereas Koko ni Iru Yo is a cute manga.
"Koko ni Iru Yo" is also about a loner girl, though it's because she has no presence. Her classmates, who have been with her for years, don't even know her name, if they even know her at all. I's a story about how the two friendliest boys in her class slowly get her to be more outgoing. Also, she writes in an online blog, similar to the novel in Watashi Ni XX Shinasai.
If you like Koko ni Iru yo, you might like Watashi ni xx Shinasai. Aside from the reason that both mangas were created by the same author, both stories have female protagonists who aren't popular in school but were liked by popular guys...and then feeling what true love is for the first time.. :)
From the same author, both mangas feature the main characters as a zoned-out girl and outgoing boy and love slowly blossoms.
