Though his name may mean good luck, Daikichi is far from lucky. Losing his home and his job, he narrowly avoids being homeless when he finds an old abandoned apartment building. But the apartment isn't nearly as abandoned as it first appeared, as it's being occupied by the ghost of a girl who committed suicide there many years prior. An ecchi romantic comedy from Tanaka Yutaka, mangaka of Ai-Ren.

This manga follows the life of a man after he loses his house and his job, ending up having to live in a run-down house. In fact he feels so sad that he even contemplates on commiting suicide. However, in the new run-down house he is in now, he meets Kana. A girl ghost which changes his outlook on life.

The story is told in first person, mostly from the man's perspective, sometimes from Kana's perspective and sometimes from the perspectives of other character in the story. The story is very simple, sweet and beautiful. Nothing too complicated, no harem, no stupid love triangles, no gender benders, read more

That shit is the premise of this series on MAL. I think it's a bit misleading (read;retarded), so I will start by making it more accurate,

Daikichi-kun finds a fucking house where he can live, it's free and in good condition. There lives a young, sexy, ghost girl in that house. She wants to fuck Daikichi all day long. Daikichi is far from lucky.

The premise still sounds darker, way dirtier and more dramatic than read more

Ill be honest here, I was just going to read this just because every once in a while I love smuts.

But then the manga itself takes a turn for the better. It wasn't just the sex, it's the characters behind it also. Then the manga sucks you into it's very positive atmosphere and you just can't stop reading it.

I'm not going to lie, I was so scared those two were going to argue at some point and or something tragic would happen. Even though it's episodic, it is rather depressing. But you do appreciate it! The ending was very cute, the couple is very read more

this is a hard one to review.

this manga is almost completely episodic, where any one chapter can be read out of order. so i gave it a 6 because of an over all lack of story.

the art is almost perfect for this kind of manga, but at points i do wish there was something a little more.

characters, this is where the manga shines, i dont want to spoil it, but you know how in most mainstream shonen its back story to add to the characters. this is almost the complete opposite of that, and its awesome for it. there is one character close to the read more

Manga: Hanjuku Joshi
A lot of sex and nudity, but in a nice kind of way. Both of these manga have a heartfelt story behind the ecchi genre that they have been labeled. One yuri one non-yuri(i.e straight).

Manga: Ai-Ren
TANAKA Yutaka, continues with the trend he started with Ai-Ren, with a sweet & sour story about Daikichi, a boy in a desperate position, unemployed, nearly homeless, and Kana, a ghost with whom he shares his life.

If you liked Ai-Ren, you'll find lots of similarities in Kana.

Manga: Ai yori Aoshi
Love is something that is not often correctly captured in anime or manga, but both of these series manage to do so in a charming and thoughtful way. Although Ai Yori Aoshi is a harem, it is far from the norm, as the main male and female leads fall in love with each other very early on and plan to marry each other before the other female characters are even introduced. Thus if you want to read a romance where the main couple actually admits their feelings and act like a couple, both of these series will deliver.

Manga: Sankarea
Sankarea and my lovely ghost kana both contain a male protagonist who fall in love with a girl who's life span is uncertain. Though unlike my lovely ghost kana's author's other famous work Ai-ren, my lovely ghost kana is a sweet and relaxing story. And unlike the zombie in Sankarea the ghost Kana actually have a working, uh, "bellow", and are not afraid of using it. Ironically enough, the sex in my lovely ghost kana is one of the sweetest put on paper, and I felt much more embarrassed with the blatant ecchi in Sankarea. Both are highly recommended, of course.

Manga: Zettai☆Reiiki
Both around about a guy who moves into a haunted apartment that is the home of a female ghost. The main difference is that in "My Lovely Ghost Kana" the ghost and the boy are both in love with each other while in "Zettai Reiiki" it is more one sided, at first anyway.

Manga: Pajama na Kanojo.
Both revolve around the relationship of a male protagonists with female spirits. It must be noted however that My Lovely Ghost KANA has strong mature themes, whereas Pajama na Kanojo is mild ecchi at best.
