I've had a Zune for about 2 months now, and I'm still struggling to get most of my anime files (most of which are avi/mkv) onto my Zune. I've tried a couple different converters, but no matter what I do, I get error code C00D002F back. I'm running the latest firmware (3.1) on a 120G Zune.

Zune's are those little black iPod things correct?

If so i suggest Jodix IPOD video converter, it converts to a format an ipod can use so it might work with it as well

What format are you converting the files to and what are the settings you have set for the files?

Use this application to tell me the settings.

EDIT: Actually, just read the first several comments of the post and you'll see what I'm about to tell you to do.

I got wmv file through a couple of methods, but I'll give you this one - I ripped two video files off youtube using the same converter:

Didn't work
File Type: ASF (WMA/WMV)
Settings: 264 kb/s
msmpeg4 video
Windows Media V8 Audio

Did work
File Type: ASF (WMA/WMV)
Settings: 264 kb/s
msmpeg4 video
Windows Media V8 Audio

I'm a little bit flummoxed by it all. I tried the video conversion link on the site you gave me, and it gave me syncable .wmv files that were only about 1/6 of the full video. Not sure what to do next (I've tried quite a lot).

can you find out what the spesific conpression settings the Zune requires for playback? that is mostlikely the issue.

I don't think it requires 1 specific setting, because I've successfully converted files with different ones.

I did some more looking and I think the problem might be skipped frames in the movie data - the Zune's pretty puritan about stuff like that. Anyone know of a video-fix type program, or even one that replaces corrupt frames with black ones?

cant you just re-encode the video without skipping/corruptin frames? worst comes to worst you cna manually edit each frame, but thats probably toomuch work lol.

If I knew how, I wouldn't be asking for software. I'm not sure how to go about that, can you be a little more specific? I don't ave video editing software beyond windows movie maker.

I'm sorry that a solution to your problem could not be found, but after a month of this thread being inactive I can only assume that you have disregarded the topic or found a solution to your topic. Remember it is ok to bump your own threads if needed. I'll give this thread a week or so, but if nothing changes I'm going to have to label it inactive.

Yeah, I did find a solution (basically the one I posted in another thread here). I use .mov files, which, I discovered through shitloads of trial, error, and accident, are actually Zune compatible when you physically drag the files from windows explorer to the Zune Software window.
