lol @ wild and talkative assistant!! But he's such a guy who loves older women (and is voiced by FukuJun!!).

Finally meeting the real assistant, and very interesting meeting. And the only thing he talked was about the type of dog (Time Paradox/Dogs?!)!

Those dogs cancelled out the time paradox created by Watashi moving back in time over and over again. I wonder how someone ever thought of that idea. The Assistant has a lot more to him than just the silent sidekick. Pretty smart of him to find out what his personality should be from the tea party with the multiple Watashi's.

Time Paradogs. That's just great.

I love how they went through all the times and explained each with a bit more depth. Assistant is a very interesting character, how he fit his personality to match Watashi's ideals. He's really likable.

Edit: woah, wait. THAT WAS THE YOUNG PROFESSOR!? I just made that realization, I was wondering why they were talking about a giant leap. I thought he was the assistant with a different personality at first. It might not be, but there's too many hints like the comments when he gives her the watch, and the fairies, and Watashi's remark near the end at the proffesor. ("You stole it from her.")

The whole time traveling aspect of this arc is great and all, but I'm convinced they just used this episode as an excuse to do dirty things to Watashi.

That was very interesting. We found out what the story with the sundial was.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootstrap_paradox

That was really clever to implement it here.

Time paradogs and the young professor gave a bit of depth to the show.

The only real question is what were Watashi's true ideals? I guess she was lead astray by the impression young professor gave to her?

Heh, Grandpa as a teenager was a nice touch.
Wondering whats going to happen with the dozens of dogs now, or how the assistant even knew that thered be a teaparty.

wait, can someone clarify a lot of things?

like i'm getting the feeling that people are saying that the assistant is the younger form of the grandpa? or is the wild kid and the assistant two different people?
grandpa = older wild kid = assistant?
grandpa = older wild kid which is unrelated to the assistant?
wild kid = assistant and the grandpa is unrelated?
all three are unrelated to each other?

i've never been good with time paradox/traveling themed things since you have to go back again to understand further, but it's not working for me this time

Grandpa is the Ringo Kid. So this watch is a proof, cause he'll give them to Watashi after she gave them to him 60 years ago cause of a one bugged timeloop.

Assistant wasn't exist ever, before the loop. But all Watashi's thoughts about him caused him to materialize.

I can see it when people say it, but how did you manage to get that while watching?

How did that happen? He was there before the beginning of the timeloop (as the timeloop most often began when Grandpa sent Watashi to take the Assistant). And the only time Watash was before the beginning of the timeloop was when she met young Grandpa.

The assistant and the wild kid are two different people. But, given Watashi's misunderstanding of the situation, she thought the wild kid *was* the assistant, so elements of him happened to be added to the assistant.

So to break it down
Assistant != Wild Kid
Wild kid = grandpa in the past

THe explanation about the tea party giving him a way to define himself means he got ideas about how to define himself from Watashi's own description of her recollections of the past.

Time travel = epic. Just sayin'

Getting the watch from watashi was fairly large proof, but I picked it up by the revolver. The beginning of the episode started with grandpa spinning a revolver around his finger, and the Ringo Kid was doing the same. Since grandpa is the only character I've seen - to my knowledge - with guns, it's a fairly easy connection to make. Sure, it's a small connection, but in this series, even small connections seem to be significant.

Assistant has blue eyes.
Ringo has green eyes.
Grandpa has green eyes and the sundial. I think that's the most convincing evidence.

Yes, some interesting ideas floated in this last couple of episodes.

I've got FAR more questions now than I did before I saw this episode, most of them centered around just exactly what is going on inside Watashi's head.

Seriously. I get the impression that all messages aside, these 2 episodes were really just an excuse for a bad conductor style joke.

It was fairly interesting, but I think they could have pieced it together better. It was far from endless eight, but they still spent too long on the repetitive establishing scenes instead of the meat of it. The part that really never made sense to me was the Watashis at the tea party. Okay, she was traveling back in time, but they had personalities divorced from hers, never acknowledged they were twins, and appeared to continue on from the point that the current Watashi would travel back. Best guess I have is that her consciousness would travel back while the body continued to exist as a pseudo-Watshi, but they're in that state before she arrives. That leaves either that echoing back through that identity or her arriving later each time. The latter makes some sense but isn't really hinted at.

I dunno. If anyone thinks there was a clear explanation to why the paradox Watashis acted so differently then I'd be interested.

alright, so clarifications are!

Ringo Kid = Grandpa
proof: they both like revolvers & the sundial with the fact that the faeires said they sent Watashi too far into the past & have the same eyes

Assistant = some recreated divine being influenced in the making by Ringo?
proof: hawaiin shirt

THOUGH!, what is the assistant then? he was mentioned by grandpa as if he met him before but now Watashi recreates him?

Assistant = recreated being by Watashi, a being created previously by Grandpa and that beautiful lady Doctor (?)

main question: why was the assisstant recreated in Watashi's wanted image and not in Grandpa's or the lady Doctor's?

sub question: did the assistant always exist or did he just start existing due to Watashi in which Grandpa was the catalyst?

One approach to looking at time travel and paradox scenarios is that such "loops" actually form alternate universes, and in such cases the individuals involved do not have to be exactly the same person personality wise, or even have the same background and experiences. Essentially each time travel that causes a paradox spins off another universe with it's only history to resolve the issue. Using this, for instance, I can accept that the multiple Watashi's there were not the same person.

Also, regarding Watashi's inability to recognized that the girls she was looking at were (almost) duplicates of her is probably an effect built into the setup by whatever mechanic the fairies used to transport her around. She was viewing the "world" through a filter imposed on her by the fairies.

There is nothing quite as sexy as time travel and paradoxes.
This was a great episode for introducing the assistant with some great time-zingers at the end.
For some, I’m sure, they didn't enjoy the re-doing of the scenes from last episode but i thought it was a great segue way to how messed up the Fairies are(which really just took a backseat, like the usually do this episode.)

So first off, When Ms. Sweets is running through the time-loops she keeps meeting herself and it turns out the entire time assistant had been around the corner overhearing what other shad to say about him. whether that means that she and him actually met somewhere in the forest before she was sent back to redo the time loop is unclear.

The best thing of the whole show was when right after she ate a banana she was sent "too far back." I was wondering why she woke up in a field last episode and it seems that she was sent back to when her grandfather was around 13 years old. Apparently he's a sexual deviant and he's wandering around town like a little crazy(smart?) kid. Ms. Sweets who thinks this is her assistant begins to head back to the lab with him and all of his "procreating" tales were hilarious. The fact that she figured out that that was her grandfather, even subconsciously was weird, but nonetheless made it funny. Kinda creepy that he was feeling up his granddaughter but when time travel is involved i guess you have to be kind of forgiving.

I was shocked to see assistant talk, even if it was time paradogs, but now i know my guess was right, that it was just a side effect of the time travel.
I don't get why they labeled her time trips in such small numbers, i guess they didn't care i was hoping for a more approximate number of how many trips the fairies did send her on, but that’s me just nit picking.

Another fantastic episode and i can not wait to see what happens next week!
I sometimes watch lots of anime.
I sometimes write reviews of said anime at my website.

There's more proof. Remember the tale Watashi's grandpa told her about a "special" woman who gave him the sundial but wasn't her grandmother? (just to add more to the creepy feeling) XD

Anyway... I don't know if I even want to try to make sense out of the wacky time travel concept from this wacky anime...

Felt like I was watching (a shorter version of) Endless Eight all over again. Didn't need to see the first half of the episode as it was all redundant from the previous ep.

Kids like that Doc/Rngo kid make me want to see them physically castrated with a rusty knife and not a single !@#$ would be given if kids like him were to be gutted like a fish after being sodomized by deprived male inmates and beheaded when they are done, then have the severed head stuck on a pole for the whole town to see like in the Game of Thrones. If at least one of these things happened, this show would warrant a 10/10 for me...but it's too bad it won't since he'll live a long life apparently.

Also, with all those Watashi look-alikes, for some reason they were all wearing a different outfit than she herself was wearing, and only some of them had watches...makes me think one of them might have been future grandma who happened to look like her when she was young...I could be wrong though.

So did Endless Eight...with each reiteration, it changed slightly with some new tidbits of info was added, while some others left out (or shortened). In the end, it was just rehashed for the sake of them trying to make a point of the time-loop.

If I understood this episode correctly, the fairies created Assistant out of Watashi's imagination in exchange for cloning her (via time loops) to make sweets. Does that mean the fairies implanted false memories into Grandpa and the Doctor to push Watashi towards creating an imaginary Assistant? Or was Assistant always an actual person and I am wrong?

Assistant coming from a community of people who don't speak...The source of this anime is really amazing!

Actually, a community of non-speakers did exist. Martha's Vineyard had almost all of its villagers use sign language during the 18th century to 1950s.

This is not to say Assistant can't hear though. He does hear very well as we've known throughout many episode, and he can talk. ^^

LOL at time paradogs! I love Assistant's voice! We finally heard him speak!!

And Watashi's comments are as brilliant as ever: I came, I saw, I slipped.

And that woman is Watashi herself!!!! Grandpa is Doc! Doc is Grandpa!
This is a freakin time paradox!!! The cycle keeps on repeating. It ended until the assistant materialize.
