Let's see if we can get a Euro thread going. Anthems are being sung as I write this and it's about to start. Thought? Prediction?

Personally I've never been much of an enthusiast about these tournaments, more of club football fan myself. But hey at least one match every day from now on, can't complain about that.

To be honest I've got no clue who might take it. I'm german and it's been forever since they won anything. Would be nice but I wouldn't mind them not winning either.

There's Spain of course but I don't think they'll be able to win a second Euro in a row. They don't seem as strong as they used to. Maybe Netherlands. Or some totally unexpected team like Greece in '04.

England.

It's hard saying that with a straight face, lol. Chances of that happening are slim.

And you're right, Spain are not the team they once were, so I don't see them winning. Germany do have a decent chance, as do the Netherlands. And I'd love to see C. Ronaldo cry again when Portugal is knocked out, lol. For me, France are the dark horse in this one.

Yeah it's finally started! Should be a good tournament as far as predictions go I reckon it will be one of the big three of Spain, Germany or the Netherlands who win but I could see France or England go on to win it through some tight close matches were they get dominated but still somehow win ala Chelsea in this years Champions league.

I thought there was a thread on this already. Well regardless, Poland has been playing well so far and those two yellows on that Greek player were completely ridiculous.

Group D: France, Ukraine/Sweden

semifinals: Germany - France

Yeah especially the first didn't even seem like a foul, i didn't get what he did.
I hope we won't have them helping the home team getting a little further than it could by it's own. We see this phenomenon quite often in this tournaments.
The game got more exciting though despite ten players, they even scored. Maybe they got mad or something lol. They where sleeping at first few minutes.

O_O Wow! Penalty and a red one. What was that goalkeeper thinking. Both goalkeepers where awful really.
Btw the same guy that put the Greek goal. He proved to be a pain in the ass for Poland.

Edit: They lost it. They should have made the little guy that put the previous goal and got the penalty do it. The moment i saw that captain guy i knew he wouldn't put it. He seemed like a too sentimental guy from all his reactions until now on the field.

And this concludes the first match of this tournament. Lots of stuff happened and it was quite fun to watch. Have to admit I didn't expect that with these two teams.

Let's see what Russia and the Czechs do.

Quite exciting match for a first game. 2 goals, 2 red cards, a lost penalty and another slightly disputable goal.

1-1. Fair result for both teams and I expected a draw to happen between the two sides. Russia and Czech Republic should be a great game as well.

It could be so beautiful, but is a draw. Teams played the same, so the result is fair. Applause for Przemysław Tytoń. I hope that the Czechs draw with Russia.

Interesting match. Both teams played well, but the Russians were better. Roman Pavlyuchenko was a super reserve player. On Tuesday, the Poles play with Russia. It will be hard.

Great day. A first eventful match and a second rich of goals with fast pace match. Russia really pulled a big victory there but in all fairness maybe the score was a little too harsh on the Czech's. They weren't playing that bad. That last goal though, wow! Amazing solo attempt. It might end up being the goal of the tournament.

The first day was great, the first match had the drama and the second one had Russia.

Today we have the hardest group to be in at this Euro, looking forward to both games.

Man, I love the Euro. Best Football competition in the world, imo. The World Cup might attract more people and money but it has several weaker teams and some group matches aren't that great. Plus, every Euro I've seen so far has been good/great, while the only good World Cup I've seen so far was the 2006 one.

As for the opening day, it was alright. Greece vs. Poland was fairly entertaining with all the drama, and Russia vs. Czech Republic was average.

Today is the group of death, it better deliver.

Alright guys, want my advice?
Don't bet on/Believe in: Germany, Holland, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Spain, France.
Ever since 2008, each my "important match" guess has failed. Every single team I believed in has failed. 2010 - Holland vs Spain (Wins Spain, I bet on Holland)
2008 - Holland vs Brazil (My bets go on Brazil, wins Holland)
2008 - Germany vs Spain (Bets go on Germany obviously in my case, wins Spain)
2010 - Holland vs Spain (bets go on Holland, wins Spain)
2010 - Uruguay Netherlands (bets go on Uruguay, wins Netherlands)
2012 - Chelsea vs Barcelona/Bayern Munich (no need to comment)
2012 - Holland vs Denmark (Bets go on Holland)
I can continue this list forever
Every single match has come with a different outcome, so yea, every team I believe will fail this year as well, including my favourites Germany and Holland. I tell yea. Screenshot this and wait till 1st July

So yea, I haven't gained pleasure from watching football matches ever since 2006-2007. I guess you could call me a bad luck supporter.

Good game. I kinda feel bad for Netherlands, though. They sure tried, but it just wasn't their day.

Btw, sucks for Robben. First, he loses the CL final, then he loses in the German Cup final, now this.
