THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
- Father's death animation was epic. (the whole punching through and souls escaping).
- Eyeball truth is one epic eyeball
- Expanded scenes on ed's decisions were nice too.
- And so Ed goes to solve it personally.
- Seriously the gate/truth scenes this episode deserve and philosophical book adaptation of themselves :3 So much awesome ideas and concepts.
- For those wondering on why Al was there and on how they could exit - Their "gates" are connected, they share the same "truth plane", thus they could exit through Al's gate.
- More extended scenes. love on how they expanded on the scenes and it finally makes sense on why last chapter is two episodes.
- And so, Hohenheim ends...as well as episode.
- Ending theme being re-themed with Hohenheim scenes was nice. I am betting that they will expand the last page of manga through the ending of ep64. It just makes sense
- Next episode the second half of last chapter of the most fitting and epic ending to the most epic anime and manga.

I don't understand why bones had an average animation director working for this episode . I don't get it . . For such a key episode , damn it .
The animation wasn't even close to the last three episodes and the artwork was too simplistic . .
Thank god we have the best ad's working for the next episode :) i can't wait for it .
Still , this episode gets an epic score from me . . Thanks to the awesome plot development , and how father was finished off .

Looks like fai has already invited ppl to bash this episode . . (thanks to the last option in the poll)

All I have to say is:

GREED ;_;

HA, TAKE THAT FATHER! Bastard.

Seriously, Father's truth is awesome. It's like a white Pacman with teeth.

Poor Roy, having the end of the world and then the revival of the world happen in front of you, yet not being able to see anything...

Ed is the only one that can look badass even when crying. Armstrong too. xD

Alphonse is the most adorable and most skinny thing I've seen. (D: the scene was better in the manga...)

Hohopapa ;________; You were such a great character. But at least you died happy~

The mini Hoho-tribute in the end was awesome.

I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK REALLY IT'S SAD BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO FIND ANIME AS GOOD AS THIS THESE DAYS BUT... OMFGBBQ IS IT JULY 4 YET?!

That was seriously an epic ending. No rushing, just perfectly paced, everything in order...
Kinda sad to let go Greed and hohenheim now after all they've been through... I really wished hohenheim could have stayed alive now that Al's back and Ed's sorta acknowledged him as FATHER...

Would have been just okay even if this was the last episode, but they've got one more left,
curious what other stuff are they going to wrap up nicely.

...I might say this is the most nicely finished ending from all I've seen so far. Way to go.

Wow, posts right after the RAWs came out.

I personally think that the episode is good. Yeah kimatg, this certainly looks like the last episode, with the final battle ending & all.

That's why I (unofficially) call the next episode as the EPILOGUE. :P

It is an epilogue, actually. XD

I watched the raws 2 hours after the episode aired in Japan! *not sure if she should be proud or ashamed*

So, to those who've seen it (I'm waiting for TMD or Eclipse):

Does this episode contain any scenes that were extended from the manga, or scenes that *weren't* in the manga at all? If so, what are they?

Certain things were extended, certain pre-hoho-death things were left for ep64.

Pretty amazing, I almost shed tears for the first time in a couple of years. This anime is definitely what I would call the perfect anime. I honestly can't think of one bad thing about it, good animations, great characters, amazing plot, good setting etc...

Great episode. Only flaw was that they didn't showed Mustang and Olivia at all. Mustang was shown only once, a long shot with Riza that lasted for 4 seconds. He didn't say nothing, even if he is blind he has to fucking response in a way to what is going on, he lost his sight but not his mouth and ears, plus Riza is there. After the end of the long and epic battle not even Olivia was shown. But Hoenhiem last moment was epic, the way he died, damn!, I must say it was excellent. Greed was also amazing. Overall great ending to the long battle, BUT 2 key characters where missing from the scene. Let's hope that in the epilogue we see them and one of them gets his eye-sight back, let's hope.

This episode seemed to be so short. (I think because it was so good!)
I really loved the whole episode! Especially the part when Ed talked with the Truth guy and saved Al. And the last part with Hohenheim! (It was just great with this ending, I almost cried a bit... ^^)
After finishing this episode I thought it's worth watching anime because of series like FMA:B!! ^_^

Loved the episode. I didn't notice wacky animation. And nothing will ever be worse than 57's animation 0_o

Wanted to cry when Ed choked up calling Hoho "father" :'(

VERY EXCITED FOR THE FINALE NEXT WEEK. Excited, but sad. It's over in 7 days.

it was honestly great. i personally can only find the flaw of not having one of mustangs grand 10-15 sec speach but other then that this episode was absolutely flawless....hell the whole anime was flawless. final fight was also grand none of that oh the hero gets a finally 1up. the anime gets a 10/10 from me

But I am sad that there is only one more episode left which is 7 days away from now.... :( and then it will be all over but I cannot wait to see what they do with the epilouge cause in the manga there it was kinda weird what they did with it. But yea I cannot wait till the finale next week!!

Great and emotional episode. The plot of this series has got to be one of the best in adventure anime history. I don't think we'd see something as great as this in shounen genre anytime soon.

First of all I want to say that this is one of the most epic animes I have seen and even though I loved the ending, but I can`t stop thinking about how much I will miss FMA after watching it for over 2 years every week. The ending was sad, but atleast it was a good ending and everything made sence. 10/10 for this episode and this anime.:>

Amazing, they actually outdid the manga.

The Greed sacrifice was great, as was Father imploding in on himself and getting pulled into his own gate and of course Ed sacrificing his alchemy for Alphonse.

But what put this one over the top was the way they made much of the second half a loving farewell to Hohenheim. Having the ending credits sequence recut with all of the key Hohenheim/Elric family moments was a great idea, and the scene with Hohenheim's final words at Trisha's grave is absolutely heartfelt.

I don't like to rate an anime series before I complete it, but I'll make an exception for this one. The last episode could be animated using only stick figures and this series will still be a 10 to me.

nice way to end a great show, they had to kill greed cuz it won't be "natural" to leave a homonculus alive (though Pride is somehow still alive but anyway). Cute way ed's father died, kinda reminds me of Wrath's death. I hoped that ed would do something awesome in FMA:B instead of gathering allies and giving the final blow, but I guess it's too late :/

I give 8/10 cuz the story was dragged for way too long and a lot things in anime are never explained/doesn't make sense + the art is not that great.

Was I the only one who disliked the scenes involving Greed's sacrifice and Father's death? I thought they were corny and I can honestly say I was laughing when Father was being pulled into the Gate =/ There's something about a cute eyeball-creature being pulled in by cartoon hands that I find funny.

In other words, I disliked the first half of the episode. The second half, with Ed facing Truth and Hohenheim's death were great and I genuinely liked them, particularly Hohenheim. So, the episode gets a 2.5/5 from me, but for the sake of whole numbers, I'll round up to a 3/5.

I'll be sad when this is all over, though. FMA and Durarara - the two series I've been closely and avidly following since they started - completed within a week of each other means I'll have to find another series to be excited for =_=;
