Alright episode, though I think it was a step down from the last one. I am worried this show may be introducing to many characters for a 26 episode series, but we'll see.

There are certainly many characters within just 6 episodes, but I think the series is handling the amount well.

Just when this series was picking up we get an opponent a lot like the sphere thing in Evangelion. There are so many parallels that I wouldn't even bother to count. Eva was psychologically interesting, I hope this series develops the characters a bit more. So far the characters just don't seem interesting enough.

Well shit . . . That Mu thingy just sort of popped . . . Anyways, I thought the RahXephon didn't have controls, the first time he was piloting it conscious he just sort of reached out with his hands and it sort of did the work for him.

Can't really say that i liked how "sterile" the battle felt (compare to like Neon Genesis Evangelion where characters are very expressive) but otherwise it's been interesting show so far.

Did the story progress too fast?

Anyway, I kind of understand Ayato, he lived in Tokyo Jupiter all along and then someone suddenly told him the world he knows is fake. Not fake but bigger and different than he thought. Then, he had to fight for humanity when he is still a normal high school boy.

But as of now, the story didn't portray his inner feelings about everything he sees..

It's hard not to compare it to Evangelion when it keep being so similar in specific plot movements! But in Evangelion Misato's grudge against the giant monsters was interesting because she had been a major character from the first episode and it contrasted with her generally goofy personality, here Kim is being introduced and having the grudge is the only personality we get.

It was very strange to have the main character be dead set against fighting then show him ready to fight with no explanation and then flashing back to a (brief) explanation halfway through the action scene.

Ah, a mecha anime where Australia gets wrecked.

I felt they could've showed subtle hints of Kim in previous episodes to lessen the ease of exposition for her full backstory being here only to show why she is in conflict with Ayato Kamina.

We get a episode focus on one of the crew members (Kim). She's Korean not just by name, but due to the writing it had on that music box (Korean).

Kinda crazy how we got a new character introduced and made the whole episode for that character.

I don't think I've seen any show done that XD

Also, Am I crazy? But why do Japanese always leave their children alone while they go on a vacation or through work. That always baffles me. Not even leaving her with a relative or so.

Like, is this really common in Japan? Going to a foreign country and leaving your children? I always see this kind of scenarios in backstories and all O__O

Man, it's crazy how openly this show lifts so many images and ideas from Evangelion. It's SO blatant that it almost feels like it must have some kind of meta purpose behind it, because surely there's no way that anyone involved in this production didn't realize that people would immediately notice this stuff.
