| Whoa. This episode was able to elicit a range of emotions. I'm overwhelmed. It had its usual dose of humour and comedic gimmicks which never fail to make me smile, and then there was Nodame's inner conflict which made me genuinely feel for her. The characterisation in this series never disappoints me. Nodame's self-doubt, insecurity and disillusionment, her seemingly instinctive marriage proposal to Chiaki, Chiaki's immediate response to the proposal by writing it off as a joke as is typical of him and then him being hung up on the matter and plagued by doubt, and finally Nodame's admittance that she doesn't really know herself why she did what she did. This episode packed considerable drama in comparison to the previous episodes but it didn't feel jarring at all. Everything flowed... naturally. I think this episode has very high rewatch value. I rarely do this, but I might watch it again some time. On another note, I'm so glad that Rui's character didn't up being shoehorned into the archetype of the jealous woman who'd be hell bent upon causing a rift between her love interest and perceived love rival. I was really hoping for this show to dodge this bullet and it didn't let me down. As for whether or not Nodame and Chaiki did it in this episode, I think there's a very high probability that they did. The scene of Nodame and Chiaki hugging on the couch is followed by a slightly prolonged shot of the moon, which then shifts to the scene of a shirtless Chiaki sitting at the edge of the bed and Nodame rolled up on the other side, wrapped in bedsheet, the next morning. When she gets off the bed and has that brief exchange with Chiaki, she still has herself wrapped in the bedsheet. You can see her clenching it tight around her chest. Now, why'd she do that? Why, of course because she's naked underneath. Putting two and two together, it only suggests one thing: they did it. I can't see what else this whole thing could possibly suggest. I'd be surprised if it's later insinuated that they didn't. But most probably the show is going to deliberately leave this matter to the viewer's speculation. It did the same in another instance a couple of episodes back. |

| Man, I guess they've finally spent the night together, but they still barely feel like a couple to me :x Can't they show more tension/chemistry between these two? This "marry me" from Nodame couldn't be more sudden and unexpected. Any normal guy would just treat it like a joke, the way Chiaki did. Or just run away, so even worse xD |

| Come to the dark side hehe, Milch is besto. But that Fate-esque presentation was seriously some next level shit lmao. And wow another emotional rollercoaster of an one episode, effectively illustrated with all the different stages Nodame went through. She really showed a wide array of emotions there and I honestly love all sides to her. Also nice that they finally "did" it. Next is playing a concerto together :P |
