| Then it's your cache. Next time you could also try viewing your profile in incognito mode or using a vpn, it "refreshes" your cache and you'll avoid seeing your older DP. |

| I am trying to upload new profile picture, and it lets me remove my old one, but after i upload a new one it says "a problem removing the old one" and then the old one comes back. I tried the cache thing and it doesnt work. anyone know what is happening lol thanks!! |

| I've been trying to put Hisoka on my profile pic , instead of Yoshino for days. No changes whatsoever. Even if I remove yoshino and upload hisoka, it goes back to yoshino |

If you upload your profile pic as .jpg and do a hard refresh on your profile a few minutes later with Ctrl + F5 (to make sure it loads the new image from the server, not the old one from your browser cache) it should change pretty fast. My pics usually change within 5 minutes. PS: I can already see Hisoka. If you do Ctrl + F5 on your profile you should see it as well. That you can still see the old pis is probably because your browser uses the image from the cache. |

| It usually takes a while for it to update, wait like 5-10 minutes and it should update eventually. Sometimes you need to press CTRL+F5 for it to show up if it doesn't on its own |

| Perhaps this is the recurring problem in MAL, which is the ridiculous amount of time it took to update profile pictures. IIRC, the site would took almost one full day at maximum to update my new profile picture. Worst case scenario: it won't update the profile picture AT ALL. Strangely, this problem is almost non-existent with forum avatars. I did some workarounds like: - deleting the old profile picture before uploading the new one - re-login - clearing the browser's cache And guess what? None of them worked. Refreshing didn't work either. |

| Hi guys, Just updating my avatar with a border + white spacing and have resubmitted it + waited a while but hasn't seemed to change. Tried removing avatar completely then uploading the new one and it reverted to the previous one :/ Is there a limit to number of times you can have a new avatar per day or? Cheers |

| Try changing the file type of the avatar you're uploading from .png to .jpg, or if it's already a .png, change it to .jpg. That usually works for me. |

| Ever since I changed my profile picture almost a week ago, this keeps showing up when I try to change it again: The following errors occurred when trying to upload your picture: I've tried restarting my tablet and I've tried logging back into MAL.- Sorry, this file () is not a valid file format (must be JPG, GIF, or PNG). The picture I'm trying to switch to is basically the same thing just not a png, I had tried uploading my old picture and the message still comes up. Any ideas? |

| I tried it using a computer and using my Android phone and didn't have any problems, so the image itself should be fine. Did you only try it with your tablet? Is it Android or iOS? You could try to resave the image, maybe it is somehow corrupted and causes problems on your device. |

| It's on iOS. I just tried uploading that image from a different device, an iPod, but I still got the error. I also tried to use some other images and very few of them successfully uploaded, I can't even see any pattern for why those ones worked. I made a flipped copy of an image that uploaded and that one didn't upload. I think I'll try it on a laptop and see if I get the "Your image is not a image" error... Edit: It uploaded successfully on the laptop, I'm not messing with that shit ever again. Thanks for your assistance Luna. |
