Points Criteria
Every week:

• +1 point for each user who has anime under "Currently Watching" or "Completed" that week on MAL
  
• Double the anime's "Currently Watching" points for the week if 4 or less players have it on their active team
  
• +25 points for each forum post in the anime's episode discussion threads in the previous two weeks (counted every two weeks)

Scored only once:

• +1000*((un)weighted score) points for score ratings on MAL upon week 7
  
• +2000*((un)weighted score) points for score ratings on MAL at the end of FAL season (week 14)
  
• -5 for each user who has anime under "Dropped" upon week 7
  
• -10 for each user who has anime under "Dropped" at the end of FAL season (week 14)
  
• +30 points for every user favoriting the anime at the end of FAL season (week 14)

AND THE WINNER OF THE FANTASY ANIME LEAGUE SPRING 2012 IS....

Kaguya!

Contrary to all expectations the winner hasn't been decided by nuking each other but by having the better bench series and making a clever move to swap it in when it was needed :) Congratulations Kaguya!

All players who are ranked first, second and third will receive a banner soon.


As for everyone else, thank you all for yet another great season of the Fantasy Anime League! The Fantasy Anime League will be taking a break for one season, but we will be back for the Fall 2012 season. Look forward to it! Whether you're a newcomer or you've participated in this past season, everyone is encouraged to join. The registration will probably begin around mid-September.

If you haven't already, join the FAL Club to stay notified of the latest updates.

Also, everyone is encouraged to give their comments and suggestions in the Comments and Suggestions thread. We want to change some things to make FAL better and more interesting next season, so we'd like to hear all your opinions.

As for my ranking I kind of gave up after a bit. To short of a notice to research doesn't help either but it was still fun that FAL was revived. Thanks Luna_!

Finished in 30th, and considering some of the mistakes I made, I'm really satisfied. On to the Fall season!

And some people like myself may have simply selected teams at random without officially researching any. xD;a I'm still happy to at least have made 149th. At least now people can take all the time they want to research the fall 2012 season. Some not-yet-aired titles are starting to have Oct 2012 airing dates announced, making it not too difficult to figure out which ones to research.

Oh well, 2nd place ain't too bad ^_^

My evil plan didn't quite work, I expected the top 8 players to nuke each other so I could surpass them all with my booster, but in the end most of them also opted for the booster. :3

Oh well, I guess this was my best FAL performance anyway, 5th is a nice place. Gonna win it all next season, as long as there's no WW3 or any stuff like that. :)

Thanks to our FAL goddess Luna_ and all of the staff, now I'm off to try and put together some suggestions for the next time.

Sengoku Collection, rock lee and Medaka box got slaughtered, and Sakamichi prevented a clean sweep for Sankarea.

Ended up going up to 129th despite only having one of this weeks top 4 thanks to a good performance by all the team. :)

That was fun. Hope next time is allowed to be more interesting in weeks 8-13 than this one was.

P.S. Just realised that Kaguya made a swap at the very (!) last minute which ended up being the deciding factor of the whole thing.

I froze in position 68 since... I don't remember when. O well...

I'll be back for the Fall season n_n

Yeah. I did calculations beforehand, so I knew that Medaka was going to get slaughtered, so that's why I used my final swap to put Eureka Seven AO back in there for a last hurrah and ensure that it wasn't complete waste of a slot picking it. That and the booster allowed me to gain a place, despite not having Sakamichi or Zombie (or Basket, Jormungamd or Tsuritama from the non-frontrunning strong final-week performers) on my team.

As for the Sankarea thing, I didn't have Sakamichi on my team, so it was pretty much a Sankarea clean sweep as far as my aces went.

And yeah. I will be trying my luck again in Fall to see if I can improve my ranking again (157>57>33 is my record so far, going back to my first FAL season in Fall 2009), so I hope the staff will keep up the good work to make FAL better than ever for then.

65th? Well, I was expecting worse. Top 50%, at least. Hopefully i'll do better next season.

Managed to hang on for a top 50 spot (in fact 50th LOL). Good enough.

More importantly, a big thanks to the FAL staff especially Luna_ for reviving this awesome league and (probably) did all the points calculations for the past hours. :D

I'm looking forward to the new rules and format that may be introduced in Fall.

lol i was right, what killed me in the end was the series i was contemplating on for my bench, was biased so i didnt choose it xD, when the second episode of it came out... man i regretted my decision x.x

Good to know that even if I wasn't the unlucky one who got nuked I wouldn't have won ^^. Still a top 3 place would have been nice, but I guess luck wasn't on my side.

Just one thing:

If we had a user with a Accel World/Kore wa Zombie of the Dead/Medaka Box/Sankarea/Tasogare team with Hyouka and Saka michi on the bench, and a one with Accel World/Kore wa Zombie of the Dead/Medaka Box/Sankarea/Zetman team with Tasogare and Hyouka on the bench, and they both made the best possible moves with their team, I wonder who would have won?

I'm leaning towards the Sakamichi team. That final week boost was pretty massive, and the three week gap between bench swaps would have made it difficult to get the most out of Zetman (which outperformed Tasogare on week 2, but delaying the sub would have meant an extra week before you could use Hyouka). but the Zetman team would have had at least a stronger opening week if nothing else.

Amazing how even though a series might not initially be one of the most popular choices, it can still become one of the highest point-getters in the final week (Sakamichi no Apollon and Kuroko no Basket). Turns out those dropped/overall rating/favorites categories really show a series' overall worth.

Ah thanks everyone! :D It's nice to have my name in the Hall Of Fame.. Kehehe..

If it had a thing called a "plot", thus increasing its rating slightly and reducing the huge number of droppers then Sengoku Collection could have easily finished 15th overall, and maybe even higher. Nothing all that special, but pretty damn good for a series which started out on 0 teams and only 2 benches.
