MAL☆SUMMER☆FESTA Brought to you by the MAL☆Summer☆Festa Production Committee There are 10 days of summer left and MAL is holding another community event to help you all make scary sweet memories before it ends~ You and your friends are tasked with re-enacting a summer-themed scene, created out of either: ★ Manga Pages with English translated text; or, ★ Anime Screenshots with English subtitles. Your final submission will be a video which will combine the voice acting of you and your friends with the manga/anime stills, to create a picture drama special. Here is a one-man example made by DEMOLITION_D on his youtube channel (not for this event). Each submission must: ★ Have some kind of summer themed plot! Be it funny, scary, romantic... you decide. ★ Be SFW (safe for work). No hentai, guys. ★ Not be a full-length feature film. Videos should be no longer than 4 minutes. How to Submit? Send Matsurin a PM with: ★ Your special's title. To help us refer to them. ★ Link to your video! Obviously. Please upload them somewhere like dropbox so we can put them all on one YouTube channel. ★ Link to the MAL database entry of the work. So we can warn people of spoilers. No unlisted doujin please. ★ Staff/Cast of your submission. If you're too shy to list who voiced whom, a general list is okay. Once we collect all of the entries, we will create a voting thread where the community can view all of the submitted entries and can vote on their favourite one! The thread will be posted in Casual Discussion. Submission Deadline *Sunday, Sept 7th, 23:59 PST You must send in your video before this date! Voting Thread Unlocked Monday, Sept 8th or maybe 9th Once the thread is unlocked, you can start voting! While video editing is part of the process, it shouldn't require much more effort than overlaying voice/sound on images. The easiest program for beginners is probably Windows Movie Maker. If you need help with the video editing, you can send Hanabi-kun a PM! Then upload your finished video to a site like dropbox and send the above details to Matsurin! There are many friends-focused clubs out there already with 2000+ members joined. I don't think an extra one would be needed - the ones in need could just join (one of) those and share their request on gaining members for the event. I'm sure at least some will be glad to participate. If names are needed, then Namine's Cafe or Slice of Life Club are already two active examples. There's also Anime Friends Forever and others that have really sweet private communities set up and running. |

I was going to ask how much of skill is required to help (I'm not an expert but I have my fair amount of experience.), but if the software "Windows Movie Maker" was even brought in question I should be able to handle it. So yes I volunteer, and my experience consists mostly on Sony Vegas. |

A club can be created in a few second, but there already are relatively active friends-focused clubs around that would probably benefit you more than a creation of a new one whose sole purpose would be this event. Do note that the community in those is (most of the time) not as unorganized as the community in the open forums.
