So 167 episodes weren't enough? I never dared to start the anime in the first place, and I guess I never would after this

I always thought they would leave it like it was. I mean I only watched episodes here and there on Cartoon Network but if they actually finish the story as an anime I might consider watching the other episodes. And this gives me hope that when d.gray-man gets far enough or finishes that they will bring it back to finish the story animated. =D

Same. I never even liked Inuyasha much at all, but this is so surprising! Awesome news.

Gonna have to actually watch the series from start to finish now, I only watched it back in the day on Adult Swim.

This is a surprise. Though, I dropped the anime long ago mainly because, like the manga, it just dragged out too long to keep me interested.

I may watch this new season but I can't say I love the series anymore like I did when I was 11-13.

finally been waiting for this, read the whole manga series and wanted to see it animated the rest of the way. and to those who say that 162 episodes is too much, the manga is 500+ chapters long so basically 162 episodes is not enough.

Wow, I would have never expected this. I was sure the anime just played it safe and that was the end of it. I saw the series end on Adult Swim, now I have a reason to start buying the seasons on DVD now.

Had I been 10 years younger I may want to watch it. But my tastes have changed since then....

Still, only the first 50 episodes of the first season was really good.

Anyway, already finished the manga and I can say that it's dragged pretty badly. I'm planning to read the new series by Rumiko instead.

I started watching this show way back in middle school...and now I'm a high school graduate. This took much too long, but i will watch it to finish what I've started way back when... as one of the first animes I've watched.

I just hope Inuyasha kills Naraku for real meaning no more wussing out at the last minute. They just gotta kill his heart and it over.

I saw this coming. With all those rumors on the net, it was bound to happen, so I'm not surprised. I'm really glad though. It can finally finish properly (and hopefully we'll see those chapters where
)

Now if only they'll do this with D.Gray Man at some point, since both series sort of ended the same without anything resolved <_<

Not a surprise at all. Sunrise stated when they caught up to the manga and ended the first run that they'd like to continue it once the manga ended. Then the manga ended last year, and that Black Tessaiga OVA was made with original staff/cast... which was basically saying "yeah, we have everyone back together, we're going to continue the series."

It's too profitable for them to ignore, for one thing. Still a big popular franchise in Japan and certainly in the US. And hopefully this means we'll get it in HD, though just 16:9 would be nice even if not HD.

how can you know it's a waste of time if you haven't seen it? you're a waste of time.

I'm pretty much in shock right now, since I always thought a second season of Inuyasha will never come, and that it's just my own wishfull thinking...gonna watch it for sure.
