Brotherhood didn't achieve the same emotional depth, also because they added comedy scenes in between. In a lot of other animes, it is unthinkable to kill off a comic relief who also has a family. The moment I saw Führer (forgot his real name) give Huges the green light for further investigation, I thought he might end up dying. Still, I was sad it actually happened. Speaking of Fuhrer...I have found him to be kinda suspicious for several episodes now. And after this secretary incident, he seems even more suspicious; I wouldn't be surprised to see him be revealed as a villain/have a skeleton in the closet/sth like that (haven't seen Brotherhood yet, so this is just a guess). As a last remark: why would he meet with Douglas alone if he already knows that she's involved in it and is most likely leading him into a trap. Strange logic. Get some backup, man! |

| This episode was just pain. Man... Hughes' death was sad in Brotherhood but the way he was showcased here before and after death was really depressing. Much more emotional here. |
| Rest in piece to a fantastic character :( Envy really pulled an unfair move with his transformations. I also really like how they handled the ed by removing the visuals |

| "He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again." I know he loved every second of the time he was a father and a husband. And he did an outstanding job in both of those roles. That hand-waving scene at the end broke my heart. Rest in peace Maes Hughes and Fujiwara Keiji too. |

| I prefer how the episode handled Hughes death compared to Brotherhood and the manga. The fact we spent more time with him also helps. |
