When Kako died....why didn't they lose?
The mission in every battle is to kill the pilot of the enemy, so when Kako died they technically lost. But they didn't^^

The Battle began already so they couldn't switch the pilot.

Or can it be that when somone of the ones who made a contract kills the pilot that nothing happens?

I read the whole Manga in 2 days and nobody asked this question so i think that I only skiped that part^^

ps: sry for the bad english xD

Mod edit: Watch out when making threads with spoilers in them. /Thread title changed.
onan edit: sry now i don't know if you can call it spoiler because you already know tha he dies (don't know if the mod knows the manga/anime^^)

They explained right after that that the pilot has to be killed from a person of the opposing universe in order for anyone to win or lose.

Hmm which page which chapter?
because if i read after the death of kako(chapter 16 at the end) Dung Beetle only says that they don't die but doesn't explain it^^

by the way i read it in onemanga, maybe they forgot one page.....

Weird. You ARE talking about that coward kid that Chizu offs, right? I read the series on onemanga myself, maybe they mention it a few chapters later. I'll go look, but if you keep reading from where you are, you'll probably find it before I do.

EDIT: Shit, they don't mention it right away. I suppose it's something that's said in whatever arc the true nature of the game is revealed.
