Production Studio of Saki Changed

According to the ED credit of episode 15, the production studio of "Saki" changed from GONZO to Picture Magic. GONZO was credited as an assistant studio, which generally means a subcontractor.

I think the same thing happened in a few episodes in Zettai Karen Children although it was the other way around where SynergySP became the subcontractor and Gonzo took over the production for some of the episodes.

My guess is that they ran outta budget and had to co-operate with another studio. However, the DVD preorders seems decent for them.

Hopefully they're gonna make it since I don't wanna see any anime studio perish... (Nope! I'm not an anime studio hater. I'm just being neutral though so that I could lessen the bash and hate, here and there. Thank you...)

I'm with agreement with Loverhina in that Strike Witches is the only Gonzo animation that I look forward to be aired before the inevitable shutdown.

This is fine for me as long as the quality stays decent. I don't really care for Gonzo much in the first place, so I hope the new studio does well.

Actually, Gonzo earns no money from Saki, despite the popularity of the series. They aren't on the production committee, which means that they get a fixed payment for animating the show (as opposed to any royalties/shared profits; after all, they aren't footing the bill for the series). As you might guess, creative control is in the hands of the sponsors, which is why Saki is so different from a typical Gonzo anime.

If downsizing was the impetus for this change, it'd make sense for Gonzo to pursue a release from the contract.

I love the new OP and ED by the way. (song, characters' action and transition wise)
I had fun watching and listening that it made my head rock with the beat and smile! Lol!

Rarely does Gonzo do good sutff and when they do good stuff they need to give it to someone else...

At least they still have shangri-la running =/
