VIZ Media announced at Anime Expo 2009 that they will release "One Piece" vol.24 - 53 during the first half of 2010 (January - June). They intend to shorten the gap between the release in Japan and US.

Glad to see they aren't just pushing naruto as hard anymore, hell they are only like 50~ chapters behind which is pretty fast but they are lacking in other animes

Wow. That's around $300 worth.

I like the idea of catching up to the Japanese release, but I don't really care for One Piece.

Finally i've been wondering when they were gonna do something like this. Glad to see they aren't just focusing on Naruto.

This is awesome news, now they are are treating One Piece like they treat Naruto in terms of realese. This is definitely great news for all.

I believe they still do. At least, when I looked at volume 20 randomly in a bookstore, that's how it was.

I wish they'd do this with 20th Century Boys and Pluto. At the rate it's going now, Viz will publish the last volume of 20th Century Boys in three and a half years time. The series is over, why do we have to wait? Release em all! And dammit, people have already mentioned this. :P Well - I'm with you! I wish they'd publish Bleach faster as well. They've done this with Naruto and One Piece now, why not Bleach?
