Finally some news! It's from Shoujo Spain and I really hope it's not again just someone joking around. http://shoujospain.blogspot.com/2010/03/yazawa-retoma-nana.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ProShoujoSpain+%28Pro+Shoujo+Spain%29&utm_content=Twitter So, basically it says that Yazawa is in the way to get better and we'll have a new chapter of NANA in the end of july. It'll be in Cookie n.09. I think that news is serious cause it's referring to a news that Cookie posted in her site. As i don't know japanese i can't really confirm that. |

Since I don't read Spanish I couldn't read anything from the link XD However I do hope what you read is true. It stopped at a bad place. I've been dying to find out how things turn out, even though we do know Nana stays with Takumi it appears. I want to know if what just happened is what drove Nana over the edge as well. |

I don't know where the original Japanese information is posted, but basically what Reikaa said is what it says on Spanish on that page. (Yay for taking Spanish in high school! =D) I'm really excited about this. Can't wait til July. ^^ ![]() |

Yeah, I'm pretty fluent in Spanish from school and that's a fairly accurate translation...but given the type of small private site it's coming from and simply the fact that it's coming from Spain of all places... leads me to believe this lacks much credibility. Can only hope =/ It said the primary source was from Cookie magazine though, which I believe is a Japanese manga magazine that's been associated with NANA in the past. Anyone seen it? |

As much as I would like to believe that Ai Yazawa will be releasing another chapter of Nana by July, that website is not a credible enough source to me, especially after the shenanigan they pulled for April Fool's Day. Plus, why would Spain have any information out before a Japanese website? I'm sure the news would break in Japan before Spain or any other country. I just bought a Nana bag from a seller in Japan on eBay who sells Nana merchandise so I just emailed her a couple of minutes ago and asked if they heard anything about Ai Yazawa's condition and what's going on with Nana. I'll post and let you know what she says. |

Unfortunately, she said she hasn't heard anything either. This is seriously the strangest thing. She is a worldwide known mangaka and you hear nothing about her. |

Yeah, it really is weird... I mean, I'd understand if she was one of the lesser-known manga-kas, but she's well known, worldwide, as you said. You'd think /someone/ would've heard something, but I guess that's not the case. :| ![]() |

It could be that she put the series into hiatus because she's thinking of the perfect way of ending the series. NANA......man I remember watching the anime as it was getting released and subbed.....damn were the subs slow. I read a few chapters of the manga but I didn't continue because I had too many commitments. Anyways, back to this hiatus thing......I hope she's not pulling our legs like CLAMP have done with a few of their series with a freaking long-ass haitus. Hmmmm....I'm wondering if I should bother with this series or just wait when it truly finishes. Pretty much a DEAD series now. =( |

I am glad she is better. She must have endured a lot and probably even reconsidered her whole life. We must not blame her if stops working as a mangaka. But I really really hope she will return to work step-by-step. She might have felt uncomfortable because of telling so much about self-destruction in NANA. But Nana Osaka in her new imaga with long hair, singing in some London bar - didn't she seem finally happy? I hope Ai-san will make it through and give NANA a heart-warming ending. |
