Any ideas if a subbing group has picked this up yet? |
| No... still waiting. I tried to look at the page that showed which groups are subbing what, but it seems that I had forgotten what the url was. |
| Just now saw the RAW myself and I can say that usually the first episode in a series is the best chance to grab a person's attention and show them the potential it can have and I didn't feel that here; it was disappointing considering how much I loved the main series. Don't get me wrong, the episode was decent and I was able to follow along without subtitles due to having played the Visual Novel, but the [amount of] fan service was just way out of line. An unfortunate 3/5 for the first episode. I still have high expectations for the latter two episodes however. |
| Fan service? Need to see the raws properly then cause I haven't seen anything of the sort. Maybe then will I be able to master moonspeak |

| Not bad, I played the game so I almost understand everything ;) At first I thought it would be just a fanservice episode but fortunately it wasn't The new art style is a little odd but not bad The new opening song is great, I'm glad it's sung by Suara again =D |

| I absoutely loved it! Utawarerumono was the second proper anime I ever watched, and it feels so good to be watching it once again. It was pretty much everything I expected. Upon first hearing about the OVA I was disappointed that OLM wouldn't be doing the animation, and while I miss their wonderful painted backgrounds, AQUAPLUS done a fantastic job. The opening was brilliant, mainly because of Suara but the animation was sweeet, especially this part... The ending song was great as well! Loved it. Can't wait for the next episode! I hope the OVA doesn't cover everything left out of the original series though because I haven't finished the game yet! |
| SubSmith subbed it. (sub seemed like good quality too) Had a bit of fanservice in the first part, but this shouldn't be a big surprise, considering where it's coming from. It delivered everything I expected of it, and I really can't hope for more since I'm spoilered anyway. >_> |
| Decent episode. But I didn't expect from it to be more than that, because this side-story was pretty boring in the game too... I believe the next 2 episodes will be better though. |
| Very nice, good seeing Karura again so much :P loved it!!! The animation was slightly different from the TV series, but what i found weird is that they changed Karura's sword... if you call that a sword. |
| Nice episode, even if i really hated that part in the game. Urutorii being selfish for that little kid... At least, they summarize it, so that was better like that :) |

I liked the old style a lot better, it was more detailed and gave out a much serious look. For me, someone who didn't play the game, the episode was kind off... well, it took me a while to understand what was going on. It didn't follow any of the original series episode so I was kinda wondering where did the baby come from and how did they found him. In my opinion, it was an average episode even though I love seeing Karura again since she's my favourite character (still I miss her club thing, where did she get the giant sword anyway?). Well, for now I'll just wait for new episodes. |

I followed the episode pretty well, but I played the game. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything special. It wasn't one of the better side stories from the game in the first place. |

| Quite formidale episode in terms of direction, character development and even script. It fit perfectly together as a one-shot story, and was extremely well structured and developped. Great science of detail too. It's FAR better than all the Tears to Tiara episodes released for now, without a doubt. |

| Generally a decent and enjoyable episode, if not exactly outstanding. Since I played the game I understood what was going on, but I was suprised they didn't show the actual finding of the child, instead showing him already in the castle. As for animation, I don't exactlly remember how the original anime was like (have to watch it again I guess) but I liked it a lot, and especially I liked how the ears were more lively (I think they were much more static in the main anime). After all for cats and the like (and Karura for example is catlike) the movemens of the ears are as important as facial expressions. Hope they'll keep this up. |
| Yeah like many others who played the game I also didn't like the story with this child but seeing more of Urutori's overpowered spells made me happy :P (in the main anime series there was too little magic fight scenes). Looking forward to next 2 episodes. |
| Wow, I'm surprised this has had so many positive responses... I liked Uta, infact I'm just about to finish rewatching it when this OVA came out. It's garbage.. The art is all wrong, the character designs don't suit or anything. Everything's far too damn cute, including Hakuoro himself. As far as I can tell the entire purpose of the episode was the spa scene, and that's dissapointing, despite the fact the game is an eroge, I never thought of the anime as a porno. Props for doing the Urutorii and random's baby arc, straight from the game, but they botched it - didn't feel like Uta at all. Felt like I was watching Popotan. Biggest disappointment I've seen in awhile, and a little frustrating that so many people have given it a positive response. |
| lol to all the people who want things perfectly the same as if they had OCD. Anyways... Great episode, liked the new OP themes on Oboro and Touka. Poor Urutorii though. |

| It felt like this ep was more about showing the eichi/music.. it was alright but nothign like the anime series -different art -different way of doing the story -slower story it was alright and got through it but still wished it was like the anime series. |

| I was a bit disappointed seeing the first OVA ep. I really liked the anime, but this OVA ep just had way too much fanservice and not enough plot... the actual action only shows after like 20 minutes into the episode... i was bored before then... Hope the second ep is better! |

| I couldn't stand to watch it. The original series was far more interesting and better. There was barely anything to enjoy out of this one except the fanservice but who needs it?! I expected more since the original series was good. Something around those extra episodes would have been fine. Apparently it was a letdown from the start. Too bad that other anime got me to cancel the episode halfway since it seemed just a waste to me. Glad I stoppped watching anime that I can't stand and this OVA goes to the trashcan (yes, I can't be arsed going for the second episode). |
| The baby story was my least favorite from the game, so I didn't enjoy this at all. It was weird to watch this because Utawarerumono was one of my first true anime series, back when I couldn't understand Japanese at all and couldn't appreciate voice acting. Watching this OVA ep made my memories of the anime seem way off, so I wonder how different I'd feel about the anime if I rewatched it now...I probably shouldn't...>_> |
| I think I'll probably end up rewatching the entire series in HD since I can now before I even look at the OVA, maybe by the time I get to it I can watch the OVA episodes in HD as well (or are they already done in 1080p)? ~_~ |
| Well I found it nostalgic because Utawarerumono is one of the first series I ever watched. Overall it was decent. Though the art's changed I don't mind it much. I still enjoy the characters. Aruru always cracks me up, but I agree this episode lacked Eruru. Slow pace was meh i hope the next ova is better. |

| I'm really dissapointed in this =_= First of all, wtf was the thing with all nudity and breast showing?! >_< The art lacked at several points as well, from just being a little bit different to a bit amateur at some times. And from the intruging and adventures plot in the tv serie, this was just so boring. Everything also shows how everything was almost fan service for the boys - the nudity part is more than enough proof for that. I reallly hope they will do a better job with the next episode. And of course, as a big Benawi fan - i hope they show him more and make him speak more than less of 30 secounds =_= |

| Well, if you ask me, you guys really should forget about the Utawarerumono anime when you're giving your comments about OVA. This OVA is much more dedicated to the game itself (where it all bases of course), including all the music and events. Finished the game myself, I think this OVA was really good when we compare the relevance % with Utawarerumono anime and it's game. What are you bitching about the animation, it has the same animation staff as the game's opening vid for christ sake! So, it's kind of original version. Anime came after the game, amirite? Correct me if I'm wrong. I really enjoyed this OVA. Hope to see more coming soon. But as I tend to be critic, 7/10. PS. Sorry for repeating myself. cba to fix it lololo |

They used the original game music in these OVA's. I'm currently rewatching Utawarerumono the anime (like 4th time now) and I haven't yet heard any of the original music. Shame. The music in the game has the most emotion in it. |

| I adored how they put a little mark on Aruruu being obsessed with all things edible. However, I would have liked if they made a note about Uruto not able to produce milk and included Fu-chan saying papa and mama. On the side, the batching scene was yum. |

| Well I had no problem with the new chara design, it was nice to see Karura again, the opening is beautiful, even if I still prefer the series's one. |
| Nice fanservice at the beginning but overall I found this episode kinda slow and almost nothing happened there. Those child nursing scenes felt only as bonus that was torn out of main story. I guess that's ok as this was made for the players of the game but I didn't expected they would make it this boring. But the ending song was nice I guess. |
