Mr. 5th child has the hots for Shinji. Creepy. lol
This episode should please any Shounen-Ai fans out there I guess >_>;;

Interested to see wtf is going to happen now, since Kaora was the last Angel...

i hated this episode, specially since there were so many gay moments.

the best part was seeing mr. 5th's head flying down. and poor shinji can't let misato hold his hand... D=

Ok...that was...creepy...i guess. Mr. Last Angel is in love with Shinji. And Shinji accepts his love. No more shounen-ai please.

Pretty sad episode, especially that long minute where he was about to kill him.

Episode 24 is by far my favourite episode in the series. It's immensely powerful!

Those that are using words like "shonen-ai" about this episode really, really don't understand it at all. Labels like that totally cheapen the series and the experience. Shinji was sexually attracted to Kaworu, but this is an important character point not just some fan service shonen-ai ...

Exactly. Shinji had no one else to turn to. Asuka was in the hospital, he couldn't face Rei anymore, nor his classmates...

He only had Kaworu to turn to. Kaworu showed him kindness and acceptance.

Shounen-ai, my ass..... though I do like the occasional fanart once in a while ^^'

Lol? I thought NGE was going to turn into a yaoi or something halfway through this episode.

That really long pause was weird too, and Asuka wasn't looking so hot in that bed. Next 2 episodes is going to be interesting.

Now I know why I never really liked Shinji... Surrounded by all those girls and he does nothing... Now it all makes sense.

I agree with most of what you both say, but I'm not fully believing in the part that shinji was sexually attracted to him. I thought that both shared a strong bond. Not in a sexual way but through a sort of close friendship. Kaworu gave shinji someone to be close to that Shinji couldn't with others, so in that way Shinji "loved" Kaworu. At least in how I percieved what was going on through the episode, even though there were some "awkward" parts. It was a pretty strong and good episode.

As for the "gay" thing (which I usually dislike), it fit very well into the series. Finally Shinji had someone he could entrust him, but was soon disappointed.

For me, this episode had more confusion than the last one, which I understood pretty well.

I don't understand Shinji's concern for that one guy, he met him, like what, 24 hours ago and spent the night at the house? It reminded me of Persona 3 (if you know what I mean), but in P3, the main character hung out with that person for more than 24-48 hours, and that staring contest...nice music but not entirely...needed....
On the plus side, they played the 4th movement to Beethoven's 9th the entire time, and that was awesome.

wtf? didn't get this episode at all? kaoru was a fag, ikari had an eye coming out from his hand, and what the fuck is a lilim and a lilith??? can someone explain me this?

Nice to know we have all these homophobes on MAL. Seriously though, it was a good ep. And the part whereEva 01 was holding Nagisa in his hand was intense. I also thought that Shinji may have been attracted to him in a not so pure way. But, as others have said Asuka is gone, and Misato is distanced from Shinji, so he had no one to turn to. And, as we know by now, Shinji is very dependant on others. So, I think it was fairly natural given his character.

I do, however, wish Nagisa was introduced earlier in the series because I don't think this episode had as much impact as it could have had.. But, maybe Rebuild will rectify this.
