Very slow episode and a bit boring... but still pretty good. I liked that Karin gained a little back story and that they developed her character more. Other than that Kunihito is lost at sea and Digma Zero was introduced... so some cool stuff.

I actually liked this episode, the canary song was relaxing and we got to see a character that's been doing nothing but making money off hacking carbon tax actually developing. Sure it was a slower episode but it looks like the next one will pick up the pace again. Character development = win.

I was kind of curious about what was up with Karin but I didn't really like this episode. That all seemed a bit too strange just to get her to remember some song. There has to be more too it than just a lullaby that her mother sang to her.

so she was talking to a.... ghost? i wonder what makes those people referred to as "digmas" so special?
the only way to stop a gamer from playing is either: beat them, or wait until they get bored (though 2% percent suffer seizures

I think you miss one important thing about this episode. Shangri-La might not be the best story telling series but when it come to facial impression and impression of a character this show has done it really great. As you can see Karin in these past 10 episodes, she is amazing and strong when she talks online to the other people but when it come to talking face to face she is just a weak little girl. And the impression she has when the gate about to open was purely well done. That shows what kind of a scary place could be that she has it in her mind.

I fail to really see the point if in fact Karin's ability to leave the house plays little into the overall story (which I'm beginning to feel like there is none). I really don't see how we could gloss over that ship being blown to bits in such a blase fashion and then turn around and do it in flashbacks. It made me feel like I had missed an episode or two for the first few minutes.

I'm beginning to become very frustrated with this show.

IMO this episode was meant for all "Otaku" out there to get them out of there computer bound cage ("Otaku" put up there own cage bars same as Karin did), if you think about it. Digma 0 tells Karin to talk to people; make real not virtual friends.

I loved that canary song, lullaby, anyone know the name of it, is it a tradition Japanese lullaby or? I want to download that song, thx

Did you know, Shinigami only eat apples?

I don't have anyone waiting for me at home.... What? Me?
Nice, sly cut there Gonzo.

Anyway, this was another "what the hell is going on?" episode. I really stopped excepting anything else from this show. So I've got no really qualms about anything.

This show always confuses me. because its completely different from anything i've ever see i find every bit of info helps, even if it seems useless.
I was glad we finally got to see more about Karin in this episode,
but it was one of those episodes where in the end you wondered if anything actually happened.

Me too... There was some fuzzy narrative order.

As always, the pace puzzles me. There are many characters not in a single "team", but they are not doing a great job sharing the minutes in the episodes evenly between them. Maybe that's what they want, but it does not appeal me much: this show feels halfway between a storytelling anime (like Code Geass) and an episodic anime (like Darker Than Black), but this specific blend does not feel right, or at least balanced.

I totally see Siva's point: facial expression in this show are sometimes so appropriate that it's almost scary.

I did find this episode a little boring,
but at the same time, it was 'interesting'.
