This makes me sad, I hate FMA. But I guess that's to be expected certain volumes will sell more of the monthly manga since they only come out every so often as opposed to a weekly one like Bleach. At least it beat it overall though.

Then I have to LOL@U, sir.

of course its only normal that any bleach fan would hate FMA, which is clearly superior in storyline, art and characters. :P

I love how no specific 20th Century Boys volume made it into the top 50, but 20th Century Boys is ranked 8th in overall sales. Shows that once you buy one volume, you just have to buy the rest. Glad to see Gintama selling a decent amount as well.

You can't expect most people to realize the greatness that inhabits titles such as FMA, 20th Century Boys, One Piece or Saint Young Man. After all, this site is mostly inhabited by Naruto and Bleach tards from the US ;)

I'm really glad that One Piece is top of the list! It deserves that spot!

Wow, guys, thanks for taking the time to sum up who I am as a person by what Japanese cartoons I like and dislike! I mean, who cares if we weren't talking about 20th Century Boys, One Piece, or Saint Young Man? I wish I could be cool like you guys, what with the ablity to gauge what I like by it's popularity in the United States! But alas, I am stuck deciding for myself what is good and what isn't based on the material itself and not how obscure it is so I can feel like the member of a secret adventure club for liking something twelve-year-old Naruto fans don't know about!

I have re-evaluated my place in this world as a person, thanks to you. I think I'll go to the Top Manga section, and then go to the very last page and read those series, since they obviously are of a higher quality then anything that would be a frontrunner!

Go put some south in your mouth.

Yes you are. You are what you eat, you are what you read.

So you are basically saying that instead of choosing things by the material and storyline, you choose the most popular ones and like that ? :E

1. Choosing things by the popularity of it is, well, human beings do not do that.
2. http://myanimelist.net/topmanga.php?type=manga - I don't see Bleach or Naruto anywhar thar. Do you?

Of course I forgot that you just said that you are choosing everything by the "Most Popular" tag.

Aww? And what about East? North? West? Thats called discrimination, sir!

That's pretty shallow to judge someone by something as trivial as a cartoon, but okay. We could've been the bestest of fwiends.

Except I didn't say that. I was pointing how you and those other two basically ganged up on me because:

1) I don't like your favorite anime. Grow up.
2) The one partiucular series I was talking about just happens to be popular. That may influence you, but I don't gauge the quality of a piece of work by how many people enjoy it or not.

*facepalm*
Anime =/= Cartoon.
Manga =/= Anime
Manga =/= Cartoon.

And that's why you rated it 10. Right. And Beyblade too.

Anime are cartoons. Anything animated is a cartoon. I think you're being trivial about the other two. Instead of addressing what I'm saying, you're playing with semantics.

Do you know what semantics are?

Again, trivial semantics. But, since you seem persistant, let's fix it.

I don't like your favorite manga, and you are attacking me for it. Grow up.

I don't get it. Are you saying I rated them so high because they're popular? Do you have proof of this? I could easily say so-and-so rated 20th Century Boys a 10 because it /wasn't/ mainstream, but that doesn't mean I'd be right in my assumption.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily call Beyblade popular, at least not anymore. It's barely alive, if only because of the new series.

Anything animated is Animation, or "Moving Pictures", a la "animate/animus/animé ". Cartoon is specific style of animation mostly used to define all of non-serious, humorous, parody forms of animation art. It is also an urban slang for western animation style.

So no, in no way it means the same.

Oh sure, moving pictures with thousands of frames are surely same as drawn book of non-moving pictures. Riight.

No I am attacking you because I don't like your favourite manga and because artfully FMA1 beats the entire shonen genre, minus CLAMP works.

You rated them so high either because:
a. They are popular.
b. You have a bad taste.

Yes because works of Urasawa are mostly rated because of their high quality and not because of their popularity/unpopularity.

It does not change the fact that it is a poor attempt at creating a toy franchise though.

I suppose we will agree to disagree!

Ignoring the fact you admitting you're attacking someone because of a form of entertainment, that's a cool opinion, brother. I think CLAMP is pretty cool myself. Though, those legs...

And shounen is not a genre, it's a demographic. I'm assuming semantics are fine with you.

What pleasure do you get from telling someone something is wrong with them because they like something you don't? It's actually a bit rude, especially considering this all stemmed from a simple comment not aimed anyone. Are you some sort of shounen crusader?

Shounen is a genre meant for certain demographic.

No pleasure at all. its just perfectly fine to state the opinion. just as you had the right to say what you said, I had the right to comment on it saying my own opinion.

Actually, no. It's a demographic that can span various genres, such as action, sci-fi, supernatural, adventure, comedy, etc.

And that's not a great analogy. I claimed that Bleach is better than Fullmetal Alchemist, you claimed I had bad taste because of it. One is an opinion, the other is a petty insult.
