The Phantom Troope/Spiders arc. I got to see a lot of Kurapica and I found another fave character: Shalnark!! XD  |

Chimaera Ants was not only the most complete ark: it was the most crucial, varied and meaningful too, in spite of its rather rudimentary art on the weekly publications, which was mostly amended in the volumes of the manga. With the premise of a natural rebellion of evolution over humankind, Chimaera Ants was a legitimate apocalypse, in which such critical themes in Togashi's work as the evil of the human beings, the personal identity, the meaning and value of life, the protection and the lost of a beloved one and the nature of love were developed to their heights, constituting an epic tale that represented the decisive point of HunterxHunter. There are some excellent qualities in all the other arks, notoriously in the Ryodan's and in the Election's, that rival with the Chimaera Ants' eminence indeed, but neither of them was so vast, deep and diverse a work of art as it was. There were much fantastic moments along the ark, but my favourites are yet the chairman's last moments, in which he suggests that the evil in the humans' hearts surpasses even the zenith of natural evolution, and the death of Meruem and Komugi, when both of them realize the answer to their searchs and chose to die together, for that moment was for them the very finality of their lives, encoutering their end in the light that shines everywhere in their hearts. |

The Chimera Ant arc was by far my all time favorite in the series, with Yorknew being my 2nd. |

The BEST arc in terms of quality was the Chimera Ant arc by FAR, but my favorite arc is the YorkNew Arc. Order - Yorknew > Chimera Ant > Greed Island > 13th Chairman Election > Hunter Exams |
