| Yay! Happy family dinner time! Seriously, what the fuck did I just watch? Well, as long as I don't take this too seriously I may be able to finish this and have a couple good laughs as well. And what do you mean I shouldn't be laughing while watching this - oh is this supposed to be a horror/ psychological anime? Pupa has failed on that so badly! |

| I'm glad I finally got around to this series; I needed a good laugh. The series so far is thoroughly dreadful, and this episode probably even beats out Mars of Destruction. How could a major anime studio - one that is capable of making good series (one of my all-time favorites was made by DEEN) - be so utterly incompetent with this one? It is no surprise that something like Mars of Destruction would be bad; it was made by a bunch of nobodies. But Pupa could - and should - have been better. This episode, in particular, should be a case study in how a horror/gore production can go terribly wrong. Yume's incessant uttering of "Onii-chan" while slurping up his innards is a prime example of how dialogue (or, in this case, what little of it there is) can turn the mood of a scene from creepy or disgusting to hilarious. And then, the music comes in to completely finish it off. I've seldom laughed so hard even at the best comedy. I have certainly seen plenty of campy and intentionally bad horror movies that do this sort of thing on purpose, but it is especially funny when it happens in a show that is trying to be serious, as this one clearly is. Pupa deserves to go down in history as one of the most thoroughly and hilariously botched anime productions, one that definitely deserves a cult following. I can't wait to see the rest. So far, my score is 1, which places it in that rare category of masterpieces of badness. I hope the rest of the series lives down to the low standard set by this episode. |

| Ah, now I see why people are calling this the worst anime ever. Not only does it have a lot of scenes that look like incest, but they keep showing Yume at angles obviously meant to be titillating, ignoring the fact that she's eating her brother. This is some pretty loathsome shit right here, but at least the jaunty piano music that started playing after a minute helped me get through this. 1/5 |

| Lots of good shots. Honestly really liked this episode, though I can get why people don't. Quite sensual to put you in the position of onii-chan/meat very well, with Yume's voice acting being really good in some of the subtle conflictions. Props to her voice actress. Here's the thing, lots of horror do enjoy diving into the private lives of characters, lots of like, voyeurism, lewdness, throughout heaps of works. Of course not all horror is about that, duh, but for the blend of horror this series is going for, it's doing it well. A scene going for minutes of this sexual cannibalism is welcome. However, won't pretend the series is perfect at it, simply cause of how short the episodes are. I really feel like a better format should have been done here. Works in some shows, but this one, I do think people would look at it more fondly if it at least had time for breathing. I mean hey, people look at Elfen Lied positively which I wouldn't say is too far off of this in quality. I'm liking it so far. Something I forgot to say for last episode was how much I like the colouring style. It's very rough. Fits the gritty story quite perfectly. |

| Would've been an erotic and appealing scene if it weren't for the flesh eating. Of course, the flesh eating is practically the entire episode, so that's a moot point. Did Utsutsu die there, or go unconscious from shock/pain? Yume appears to be losing it. Most of the emotions she had in the first episode have been supplanted with hunger. |
