I just watch the first 2 episodes of Hayate the Combat Butler in English dub by Animax -Asia. This is the first time i watch the Hayate anime and it was very funny. The dub was very good and so were the jokes especially the announcer who i read is done by Norio Wakamoto in Japanese dub but in this English dub, he's done by a British guy and i just love the snarky comments that he makes. But my favorite dub voice was happen to be Maria, i just love her English accent.

So what's your opinion about the Animax dub? (Remember, this is not the English dub from Bandai.)

PS.I read there are two different version of this anime, so can anyone tell me the difference since there was this one joke told by the head butler who's keeps saying something but it gets bleep out a lot.

Sorry to ask an out-of-topic question
Just want to know the aspect ratio of this anime on shown Animax
16:9 or 14:9?
Here in Hong Kong, the original free-to-air channel going to broadcast Hayate changed its plan
so i wonder if Animax HK will broadcast soon...

nice to see Animax did a great job on Eng dub from your post :)

Sure.
I not much of a tech expert but i think its 14;9 i think since i have a 16:9 LCD and there are bars on the top & bottom of the screen. Hope that helps.

Also whats the difference between the Broadcast version & DVD version of Hayate the Combat Butler? Because i think i seeing the BC ver since the announcer keeps making jokes on how they can't show that or its being censored.

The dub itself was just plain terrible.

Bandai's Dub would have been better, too bad they decided to go the sub only route.

I wouldn't care at all who they used as long as I enjoyed their voices for the characters.

I know someone did episode 12 dubbed on cartoon-world, but that's the only episode they have done so far..........

Just watch it subbed, it's epically awesome.

These idiots can't appreciate any other dubs besides their U.S. english dubs.
i know some of them are really good but even in those series only lead characters are good to hear ,rest all are just not worth listening to......
I am a great fan of animax dubs....i even consider inuyasha,yu yu hakusho,ranma1/2,curious play better than their U.S versions.
if you dont believe me then why dont you watch this video....or rather videos present on this page. http://www.animaxdubbed.blogspot.com/
In my opinion, hayate the combat butler is very well dubbed and it can challenge the Bandai dubs ...if they dub one that is.
Speaking of Bandai dubs have you all seen Vision Of Eskaflowne DUBBED version of animax...they were way better than Bandai.

I want the English dubbed so badly where can I watch it online!?

When I watched it on Animax I found Hayate's English voice so handsome and appealing than his Japanese voice >_

To heck with watching it online, where can you buy it with the english dub? This show is so much fun I'm thinking about adding it to my collection.
