i personally loved this manga. It ended on a good note. And bout the person saying the anime ended left em stunned. Well if you read the manga and watched the anime you'de see that the anime pretty much just hits chapter 42and stops. Im pretty sure they're leaving it open for another season or an OVA. |

Read it first online. Then I actually did what you should do and bought all 9 volumes since it's my favorite manga ever. I agree that the manga was better than the anime especially with what they left out with Sasahara and Ogiue. |

Zyro said: I'm glad that other people read the manga. Perhaps it was because I read the manga first but the anime just doesn't have the same feel as the manga does, I don't really know why. It's still good (subbed), but given the choice I'd take the manga. I'm with you in that. I read all the 9 volumes and It's my favourite manga (and have read some good stuff). |

I just finished it and I thought the manga was much, much better than the anime. The manga is perfect. I see no flaws in it at all. Fantastic characters, superb storytelling and highly detailed art with a nice, realistic portrayal of life. It doesn't get any better than this. It also manages to create such a strong bond between you and the characters that you are genuinely sad when it's over, to the point of letting out a few tears in my case. I was surprised by the amount of material the anime left out, but at the same time I was also really happy because I was able to get more out of a story I was already familiar with. I'm glad the anime isn't as faithful an adaptation as say... Death Note, because otherwise I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much. I can't really decide what my favourtie manga is because my current favourite, 20th Century Boys, and Genshiken are so different. But while there were things I didn't like about 20th Century Boys, there was nothing I didn't like about Genshiken. That's how good it is. What a masterpiece. |

Going to read through volume 9 tonight. I love it. I saw both seasons of the anime and the OVAs first so I have voices in my head for all the characters already, and the only reason i actually decided to read the manga was because I'm a Sasa x Ogi guy and they didn't really wrap that up in the anime. Very good so far, and I don't doubt the end will be satisfying. Here's hoping for another OVA continuation for Season 2. As a side note, this is the only manga I own. Seriously. |

Genshiken was the first manga I ever read through completely from beginning to end, and I thought it was the best manga ever. Granted that doesn't really mean much coming from someone like me who's barley read any manga at all, but still, the point is that I read the manga first, and liked it a lot more than the anime. I still think the anime was great, but the manga was truly a masterpiece, and no matter how much manga I end up reading in the future, I doubt anything will move Genshiken from my number 1 favorite manga spot. |
