Someone said elsewhere this "At AWA, ABe said that the Despera anime isn't completely dead yet, but it would take many years to finish at best. He's also involved in another unknown anime project." AWA being Anime Weekend Atlanta. That might not be true and even if it is it isn't the best thing, but it is still something.

And the Light Novel? Is already published? A want buy it.

I've been checking Amazon.jp frequently to see if they released the graphic novels, but unfortunately, no sign of it yet :(

Despera getting cancelled was the worst anime-related news that I've heard until now. I'd like to experince the series through some medium, so I hope there are future plans to release the novels.

It was def. one of the worst anime-related news in the past few years. I was happy I could start with the "Fate/Zero" series, but that little joy won't make this right xD

Well, considering what ABe said at AWA, I was wondering if they're maybe planning to release anime and graphic novels together someday...

No, it was probably someone selling an imported copy. Amazon has lots of import stuff in their listings. I mean, here's the Ergo Proxy Blu-ray box set: http://www.amazon.com/Ergo-Proxy-Blu-ray-Limited-Release/dp/B007RKNKX0/ and that certainly isn't a U.S. release, or even an "official import" release like the Serial Experiments Lain RESTORE box set got (only $400!).

Well, anyways, my offer still stands. I've been trying to find someone to translate what I spent hours searching the internet for, but I haven't had any luck ;_; its shame to hear its probably still dead though.

Man at this point I'd really just like to see another anime with Yoshitoshi ABe involved. I've completely given up hope when it comes to Despera, so so unfortunate because it looks like it would be amazing.

Hopefully it's more of a hiatus than a complete cancellation... :'(

I'm going through ABe withdrawl. Give me news of something. ANYTHING.
