Seriously though, the The Musashi Defense Force has some issues here. One might think they are egoistic but I think it might be more than just that. There were some cute moments in this volume two like from Suzu while Horizon is more nervous than usual. She better buffer up soon to what's to come in the future...

Most impressive part of that volume ImO are Masazumi's negotiation as well as Shirojiro's negotiation; though some part of the final battle (the part with Mitotsudaira and the part between Futayo and Muneshige) were impressive as well.
But the best battles of the first arc are still the one at the end of the 1-A volume ImO (tadakatsu/muneshige and Kazuno vs the bushin), so this volume shines more with its dialogues than its fights. Negotiations in this LN are truly awesome. One good reason to follow those light novel, especially with Masazumi and Shirojiro around.
