Filipino Dubbing....

i think, it depends, dubbing in hero TV is very bad..then they have those idiot dubber cuts who pissed me off..but i guess TV 5 is doing well, like in haruhi,s and code geass, its not that bad like on hero TV. |

Generally I don't like dubs. I know some dubs are executed very nicely but those happenings are very rare and most TV Stations here won't hire many people with those talents. Also, I think that the dubbed anime is not being presented in the original way that the writers, seiyuus, etc. worked hard on and that kinda ruins it for me. Also, a lot of the voice actors in Hero are very whiny and over-dramatic and it's annoying. Subtitles at least preserve most of the original program and if there are some deep cultural words and phrases that can't be translated there are always the very useful subber's notes that are present in a lot of subbed anime. So, to answer the poll, "No." is my answer. ^^ :D .-. |

ako naaalala ko filipino dub.. american nga lang.. yung filipino dub na inhumanoids na palabas sa tv5 when it was still known as abc 5 ang binabanggit na currency doon piso imbes na dolyar.. malamang yung aktwal na real-life na peso-dollar exchange rate ang sinasabi as of noong unang pinalabas yung (mga) episode na yun |

Subbed, no doubt, is the best choice for many people because, hey, that's the original! The problem is that you need to move your eyes very fast so that you can fully comprehend WTF are the characters saying. And it's not like everybody watches anime, you know. The problem with the dubs is that, you guessed it, many dubbers and scriptwriters today are not even anime fans, so how can the viewers expect them to deliver the EXACT SAME feeling they had when watching subs? Not to mention the glaring cultural and language differences between Japan and the Philippines. Nonetheless, maganda pa ring panimula sa anime ang dubs especially sa mga never pang nakpanood ng anime before. By the time they become so absorbed to anime and they have stumbled across an original, 90% of the time they will switch to subs because it's the original, and therefore, is definitely better. My vote: Subs. The only way dubs can prosper is that the TV networks hold audition for THE ANIME FANS THEMSELVES, since they are the only ones who can deliver the anime feel in THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY. They can just reserve their own people for Chino/Korea-Novelas, KUNG SAAN SILA MAS NABABAGAY. Side-note: 90's dubs is always the best for me. I don't know, but perhaps our quality dubbers are now getting old. |
