I'm telling you this because you don't get it. You think you get it, which is not the same as actually getting it. Get it?

There are some lucky people.
One Piece Episode 403 Discussion
Funi and TV Tokyo Fuji TV were betting a lot on this simulcast. I can see Funi staff being in cold sweats about how to make an excuse to raged TV Tokyo Fuji TV.

oh it's Fuji TV not TV Tokyo.

This is quite interesting news, even though they don't affect me directly.

I don't wanna see Funi succeeding in these endeavors because it'll get in the way of people that want to watch their anime without getting eye cancer, and I don't particularly care for sponsoring the japanese anime industry for now. since anime won't hit my country's mainstream media anytime soon.
I'd rather not have the only way of legally watching current airing anime being low quality web streams, simultaneous or not.

I completely agree. It upsets me a lot TV is removing what little anime it already showed in favour of streaming. Streaming is not a real solution. >.< And I'm giving the industry less of my money than I used to due to their recent retardation and the treatment of real fans in areas such as this.

I hate to say it but the ones who stole the video from Funimation's site probably ruined it for those that where actually looking forward to watching this.

Maybe I'm one of the few who actually wanted this to succeed because then maybe more options other than streaming would be available. Honestly, we're even lucky to get this because in the past most of the Japanese companies would have said no to this but if fans keep trying to sabotage the companies like this then no other progress is going to be made to get more legal options for viewing anime.

Though then again nothing may happen, it's not like things have never been leaked out before.

I am also one of the those whom wanted to see this succeed. I have taken on the practice of watching streamed episodes that are subbed on legitimate websites in order to support the anime industry. It would really be a terrible shame if simulcasting was to suffer due to something like this.

Videos have been brought down on the official US One Piece site (run by Funimation) and Hulu is reporting that today they were asked to remove Episode 391 (the only recent subbed episode they are hosting) from their site.

For those complaining about the quality of the streams, I have watched several subbed anime on Funimation's site and they are of very acceptable quality (I watched Gunslinger Girl 2 and currently watch FMA2).

Funimation just posted this on US One Piece website:

As anime fans know, FUNimation Entertainment and Toei Animation had planned for the first ever online simulcast of the series ‘One Piece’ tonight at 9:00 pm CDT., just one hour after its premiere on Japan’s Fuji Television. Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours we have determined that the FUNimation servers were compromised, even though we employ strict security standards. An unknown individual accessed and posted episode 403 online and as a direct result of this illegal act, all U.S. and Canadian fans will be deprived of access to this great anime series for the immediate future. We will make every effort to locate and prosecute the perpetrator(s)to the fullest extent of the law and will provide updates regarding this most serious matter
