I was like "whaaaat O___O?" when I saw that cute lil guy in the preview for next episode, and then it was followed by a "YAAAY!! BURUPYA~ <3" XD midnightsymphony said: Well, then. I don't care about anything other than Mikage's death right now. And it looks like it's finally going to happen, what with the appearance of Burupya and all. WAAAHOOOO! Finally get to see Hakuren, finally get the story moving with Ayanami and crew, finally get the actual Seven Ghost part of the story moving! Well, hopefully. I don't dare ask for too much... =.= As for this episode, it was very slowly paced. I know that the whole series has been up to this point, but dragging this thing out to two episodes (or whatever it has been) is really pushing it. I dunno hahaha I'm not hoping for much, I doubt we're going to see Hakuren so quickly. Judging by the not so great pacing...I give it 2-3 episodes until that happens XD. I bet they are going to squeeze something totally random and made up again like the previous two episodes :( But yea, I was totally thinking the exact same thing as you! Dragging this out to the point it's put into two episodes was unacceptable! I don't see such benefit from doing that. Gaaah blah~ - - - Overall, I enjoyed this episode a lot especially since I've waited for this damn episode for more than a month (since I started reading the manga at episode 2), which was longer than necessary since we all know that they squeezed in two crummy fillers. I love how visual they were at the distinct changes in Mikage. The tears part was nice, although I remember it being more sad in the manga. I was impressed with the apparance of the eye of Mikhal, he looked really cool! I hope people didn't miss him~! (20:46 :P) Things I don't like? Errr where do I start XD? I think it just really sucks how the anime loses out a lot of the awe factor because of the way they presented the plot and characters in previous episodes. Zehel's "official" (he technically appeared for a split second in episode 4, but I don't think any non-manga fans noticed) first appearance? I don't think anyone has made any comment about him in this thread so far other than people who read the manga. I remembered going "wtf?!" in the manga when it came to Zehel. In this episode, they made it so obvious that it was Frau because of that moment where he sorta whips out his scythe. What ever happened to the dummy Frau?! I was looking forward to that, it was so funny (he was drooling right?). Nonetheless though, I'm still glad that he finally showed up XD I think the awe factor with the eye of Mikhal is also taken away because of the previous two episodes :(... *sighs~* I guess I should be glad that they are back on track with the manga XD. But something tells me that this isn't going to last for very long... |

I fangirlgasmed. TEITO FUCKING GOT RID OF HIS CHAINS. FINALLY. But now the chains have been replaced with the creepy collar @__@ I don't like how the eye pops out from the collar every now and then. It's scary. Well, I suppose Mikage's going to die in the next episode. ;_; |

they seriously DO have an issue with pacing I wanna stick with this so bad (and to do that I'd probably have to avoid the manga or I'd otherwise drop this so quick cuz it DOES feel too slow...) ...and they do have a bad habit of sticking cliffhangers at the end...do they think cliffhangers will hook more people or something? ....sigh... Well this episode was nice in that the Eye of Mikhail awakened (yay it possesses him! Not just spontaneously pops out like the previous eps---that's just plain BORING--- ) And the ghost from Frau was cool but.....he just had to wander around looking like a lost idiot afterwards ._.; Frau...your cool factor dropped a bit there.... And I so LOLed at the "Let's trade your chains for an eyeball collar!" ....Made Teito look like he couldn't take his chains off by himself <__< |

Embarrassing, if i was the writer for this series, i would be clearing out my desk right about now. With untold years worth of materials to draw from when making an "friend betraying friend against will" scene, that is the best they could do, with that... dialogue? I never read the manga so i can only go by what i see. Why am i supposed to care that they're now fighting? the series did an unacceptable job of showing (rather than him just constantly telling us that mikeage is his friend which is nice for information uses i suppose, but not much more) the relationship between the two of them so it comes as little surprise that a moment like this has people waiting for it be over rather than agonizing over friend having to fight friend. The lack of humanizing our main characters also leads to the lack of a real "arch enemy" since Ayanami is a rather bland character whom is totally undeveloped except he did some stuff to mikage. I'll probably watch the next episode to see what is up with teito's awakening, but since this series is infamous for having poor combat and dialogue, i'm not expecting much. |

Sleeping with them on must have really sucked D= Anyway, I just found this anime and I'm I glad I did. Lots of shonen-ai potential ^_^ and I like the main characters, which isn't common with me. Can anyone who reads the manga tell me if there's any more scenes that might appeal to a BL fangirl in the future? A lot of sites list the series as 'romance' but not as 'shonen-ai' so I was wondering if a girl appears in either boy's life in the future? *hopes not* |

Really goes to show you how Studio DEEN isn't doing a very good job :(...so it takes 8 episodes for someone to TAKE THE FRAKNG CHAINS OFF... and the yaoi crap is really starting to bug the hell out of me, not to mention the snail's pace, hell I think the Bleach episodes are moving faster than this show. So yea, I can't resist in bringing this up again. But where's the yaoi? XD *dodges the tomatoes* I know there will always be a person who gets the term wrong...but I can't help it ><!! Xephia said: Hahaha don't put too much hope on the theme of shounen-ai sweetie :P There is no indication of any romantic love between any guys. But who knows~ the manga isn't finished so anything is possible XD Spoiler for Manga Chapter 37 Although we learn in this chapter that Hakuren doesn't like girls :O!! XD And don't worry, there aren't any important female characters that show up at this point~ The only important "female" character would be Razette.....but does she even have a specific gender? I'll just assume she's female ^^; |

Very good Episode. This epi really made my heart hurt , to see thing happen between those 2. It feel very angst to me , which I love bromance angst. T_T Loved the part when Mikage said "I love you, Teito." Before Ayanami toke over. I guess need stop by the store some this week and buy some box of tissues for next week epi. |

Pros: moe church impersonification, something finally happens (red eyes etc...). Cons: everything else. It's all so artificial, fake, tiring, boring... Furthermore in this ep there was a riddiculous amount of anmations compared to the other: tons of zoom-in/zoom-out still scenes, and way too many crappy CG attacks. 17 to go. Gah. |

Just because an anime has boy love, doesn't excuse it from severely failing at forming a competent story filled with interested and developed characters that viewers can empathize with. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that these problems would not be solved for many people dropping the show if mikage was some school girl and the people caring for mikage were all attractive nuns. I don't mind that Mikage and Teito are obviously more than just friends (in fact it cracked me up when mikage asked teito if there was any girls he liked at the church), but other serious problems do bother me. I can even deal with the church basically being a male model agency if they give the characters some life. I hate how this anime is all about telling us about things rather than showing them through the use of effective and emotionally charged scenes (mikage is my best friend, white haired guy is my big enemy, everyone treated me like a slave except mikage, isn't it horrible how this girl got possessed by a kor, etct etc). The girl possessed by kor is my favorite example because it was done extremely poorly to introduce a major force in the story and if you're watching Pandora Hearts there is an extremely similar scene that was instead done VERY well. They need to put the show on hold until the writers can watch Blood+ or something that gives them an example of how to make good characters and good enemies. For example, i would have MUCH MUCH MUCH preferred if they spent 3-4 episodes at the school before the incident to ground viewers with teito and show how everyone treated him like crap until he met teito. then they could pass various trials together until finally events get out of hand and mikage is forced to make his mistake. Now the viewers have an idea of how their lives are thrown in to a disarray over what is happening and how/why they miss each other. They've also grown attached to both characters so their fight is something that is trying for them and looks realistic. Doing something like that wouldn't make the show look like it is just about teito moping around in a church for half of the series. |

Falatorx said: I completely agree with you on this. I mean Studio Deen really did a terrible job at showing the important things. I mean, they tried to emphasize the strong friendship between Teito and Mikage with that episode with Mikage's sister and that other episode about the random kid (epi 6 & 7) and extended this odd atmosphere between the two. I mean they say they are great friends, but those two extra episodes did absolutely nothing but make everything worse. Dragging it out longer without giving a substantial representation of the love (friendship love) between those two is just damaging overall. As much as I love the manga, when I watch this anime it just feels a bit different...my attachment is just not there.Just because an anime has boy love, doesn't excuse it from severely failing at forming a competent story filled with interested and developed characters that viewers can empathize with. I might have mentioned this a tad bit in the beginning, but even Teito's character seems a bit different. Maybe it's the seiyuu (I can't get wolfram's character out of my head :P) but Teito just seems bratty and a tad bit self-centered. And that's disappointing to me because I really like Teito in the manga. The only thing I don't agree with is this whole "bromance/shounen ai/boy love" thing that people have been spewing about once in a while. As much as I enjoy shounen-ai, and as much as I want to imagine a shounen-ai thing going on (I probably do once in a while) in this series - but this isn't shounen ai people. Just because the majority of the characters are male and they show a strong friendship between two guys and say "I love you" (what, you don't say "I love you" to your same sex friend?) doesn't mean it has to be a shounen-ai series. I think this is why people aren't enjoying this series so much. When Studio Deen likes to abuse there control into creating this not so great adaptation and when people misunderstand/misinterpret something so important to this series (the friendship between these two guys) ....it really is no wonder why people just complain about the series. I mean, amongst the many posts I read in the the threads about this series, what is the most common comment I see? The stupid damn chains that Teito has. I means seriously?! When i think of shoujo I think stuff that girls theme( bl,magic, romance, cute stuff) and some with shounen theme (ecchi, girls, yuri, fights, and so on). Its like tell some one what inside the manga, without open it. And I know there some Shounen stuff that girl like and shoujo stuff boy likes. I also like shounen with out to much girl and ecchic scene. |
