whats next? , ppl watching dubbed higurashi because "is not funny enought"

oh and BTW ,yes, i saw some caps of the dubbed version, it was lame.

You don't find it funny because you don't know how to speak proper English.

I'm currently watching the dub.

It's nothing short of hilarious. The anime is pretty below average but the dub makes it funny and worth watching.

the dubbed, is really great, watched bout 6-7 ep's with eng dub, with the subs from the japanese version at the same time, and the subs dont stand a chance, without the great dubs this would just be another borring failed anime.

No you fucking dipshit, if you think the dub is lame, that's only your opinion, it's NOT a fact. I suggest buying an english dictionary because you clearly don't understand the language.

Anyway, I think the dub is better than the original, and I'm not even a native english speaker.

Edit: Not making a new post, I don't feel like spamming this thread with off-topic shit.

Stop. It doesn't matter if you can speak english properly or not. This is a stupid arguement.
It does matter if you don't want people to think you're an illiterate moron, but it's no surprise to me that someone who can't spell argument wouldn't care about that.

Anyway I love the dub. The sub is good too but the dub had me and my gf ready to go out and buy the series right away.

i hoestly dont know how anyone could watch the sub, when i first saw this series i was laughing so hard at the first 3 episodes that i tohugh ide watch it all in sub so i could see the jokes beforewhand but after i tried doign so i relise how FUCKING AWFUL THE SHOW IS,

the dub on the other hand is one of the funniest things ive ever had the pleasure of watching, i mean ecpecially those last episodes bets part in the entire serise for me was this

or this one joke in ep 19

"Hay can you guys hear anything..?"

"You know what I hear? I hear the sound of you shuttin the fuck up!"

"Lets see... seven?"

"What the FUCK ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT?!"

also anyone else question why all the F bombs are cencored up until the 15th episode, i eman they only say the f word liek once or twice before the 15th episode(afterword sits kinda a common word)

I don't see comedy anywhere so basically this show wasn't meant to be funny.

If you English speaking people didn't like the anime I have no idea why they even dubbed it....twice.

The dub saves this anime from being boring and generic.

It's that sort of post which makes me very glad I'm not on that side...

I'm almost at a loss to explain the poor reception this show has had. The only thing I can think of is that it's coming from a load of Americans who don't have ideas like "Doctor Who as a children's show" in their cultural DNA, and so aren't really familiar with the best way to watch something like this.

Not that School Ghost Stories compares to Doctor Who, of course. But it's still a cracking little children's horror which is good enough to appeal to adults too -- providing they don't do something silly like try to apply adult sensibilities to it.

One of my favourite sequences is in the music episode. It starts with the haunt music being played over the radio. And Satsuki takes a long time to react, making it seem as if the scene is about this truly bizarre hazard of her just sitting there and listening to the whole tune, not thinking to just simply turn it off. But of course, it's a reasonably long piece, and a little hesitation doesn't stop her from turning it off well before it finishes. But that's when the actual, and quite reasonable hazard displays itself, as that languid alarm and hesitation over a trifle turns into a frantic chase around the house to silence anything which can play music, with repeated false victories, until having her hopes dashed repeatedly, along with the basic fear of something which can kill you, has her reduced to pathetically jumping at a slightly creepy doll on a high shelf; just outside of a child's world of control, as it produces fittingly pathetic music, which nevertheless, still counts. Naturally, as adults, we know she isn't going to actually die. But she doesn't. So we empathise, we pay attention to and care about the experiences the characters are going through, this is the basis of its value as television.

And if you have some problem with humour and children's horror being in the same show, well, I can only suggest more Doctor Who.

The dub? Sorry, but I don't find making the characters hostile and stupid to be funny. But moreover, if you're going to make a parody track for people who aren't interested in the story, (although why people who aren't interested in the story would actually watch it I can't imagine), it should be an extra subtitle track. The people best placed to take this seriously are children, it is aimed at them, after all. And children are the people who are most likely to need a dub.

I'm brazilian and I watched it on TV, so... brazilian dub. The translation followed the original japanese script though, so I've watched the "original" show. I know the english dub is hilarious 'cause I've seen some scenes... but I actually enjoyed the original Gakkou no Kaidan.

I guess I must say I prefer it subbed then?

I like the raw/sub version. ADV completely fuck up the anime by not only completely changing the script but changing the genre to comedy while doing it. No wonder those fucking idiots died in 2008. Good riddance I say.

Dub was utterly hillarious.
Dunno what they were smoking, but I want some of it.
