THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well, it looks like we finished the first major arc. In one sense they could have finished the series right here. Never-the-less, it will be interesting to see where they go with this series now.

When you think about it, this series is actually a social commentary on the relationships between First World and Third World countries. But the nice thing is that the social commentary is done in an intelligent and entertaining manner, thanks in a large part to the great cast of characters.

that was such a good episode! I had expected the series to have devolved to team matches by now, but it doesn't look like it's going to at all now, and that's great!

I think princess whats-her-name Allen should cut her hair personally.

The one thing I did not like was the subtitle font, it was way too large and messed up a couple scenes with it's big fontness

This episode felt like it was the turning point for this show, it wasn't very entertaining but it was very necessary. Dan actually has a brain, Coco seems like she isn't just an annoying girl that hates her brother for no good reason and Haruka was pretty fucking awesome, despite her gargantuan mammaries. Some very interesting character developments right here.
I'm very curious to see what exactly Coco wants from her brother, if it isn't her ability to walk.

Necessary, most certainly, but I think it was pretty entertaining personally. It was a bit slow at the start, but the ending of this episode more than made up for the buildup in my opinion.

It kinda gave me that giddy feeling I got while watching TTGL a lot in a way, the ending of this episode was amazing! I think this may the best single episode I've seen so far this season.

Wow, I thought this show was going to turn into some dull basketball game episode after episode, but this is just absolutely fantastic! Instead of fighting to win a mere game, they are fighting for a lifestyle.

And the part where the ball bashes into the James Loane's suite and diamonds pouring out was just absolutely epic. Even Slash had to take a step back from being so dazzled.

Yeah, I got that same vibe while watching TTGL, and I loved that show.

After last episode I thought this was gonna turn into Dan becoming the best OCB player there ever was, saving his sister, then f*cking the OCB league, but it seems I underestimated him. This guy's Kamina with more baka genes. The ball filled with diamonds was pretty cool too. :)

The episode itself started pretty slowly so I thought it was gonna be another cliffhanger, with less than 5 minutes of basquash. I didn't expect it to turn out being quite exciting at the end.

Basquatch keeps delivering some pure excitement, getting better each episode. I remember just not liking Dan or Coco after the first episode, and I thought I was gonna drop it because of that. Dan grew on me really quickly, but I still don't like Coco. Fortunately, she's not there all that often, and the other characters and Basquatch excitement are keeping me reeled in. Love it!

I think this is why I'm not liking Basquash so much. It really is TTGL except instead of Kamina dying...he's alive and supposedly smart. I have problems with this show trying to portray Dan as some kind of savant, because he just isn't. He's a simple minded dummy, so when I see him doing crazy things like trigonometry during these matches I totally get taken out of the moment.

As for the social commentary, I think that's a misplaced comment. From the beginning the show has been about "revolution," so it's more about the "peasants" revolting and challenging the nobles' views on society. But in the end because all of that hinges solely on Dan, it kind of falls flat for me.

Maybe all I need is one good character to latch onto.

I disagree, I don't see anything here that looks at the kind of relationship between first and third world countries at all. It certainly is about the rich and the poor, but in no way is it like first vs. third world in my opinion, from my first hand experience serving the poor from both kinds of places.

so will basquash or ocb be the winner? which will survive, thats the real question, that and whats up with the princess running away? why does she want to play basketball, and hide her identity like that, just seems kind of mysterious to me, how will she be important to the future of the plot?...
the only way to stop a gamer from playing is either: beat them, or wait until they get bored (though 2% percent suffer seizures

I finally understand what the show is all about. It took me a while to appreciate it. In fact, I was not in the mood to watch this episode. However, this episode finally caught my attention.

I still think that this show is a little bit weird. I don't see anything good about it except the animation. Honestly, I still don't know where the story will go. Perhaps, is it still too early to judge it?

The episode is very entertaining, and it was so enjoyable to watch it. I guess that could be finish for first major arc, and the next arc will be interesting for sure. It needs to have more Sela scenes, though.

I guess Dan will carry his 5.3 billion debt a bit longer, at least he stayed true to his lifestyle instead of the 'official' OCB matches. Took 7 episodes but the journey finally starts.
